Midlands Tournament Thread

Well he might yet but early in the year he was undersized at 174 would like him to work with Rutt and get stronger and take 174 next year..I like the way he wrestles. He could have rode the guy I think but he went for the tilt and got reversed but goes all out that is what I like..
Unbelieveable T-Shirts with 3 wins and not a td Sorenson better get a darn td on him..
I am not sure if he ever becomes a true 174 pounder. His father and uncles are not huge, but the entire family is built just like him. Ripped with absolutely no fat.
He needs to just declare himself a 174 pounder and give it a go.

Hoping the quarters are uploaded... they still haven't been...is it because of Flo vs. track?

Could someone please help me so I can watch video replay of certain midlands matches? I am a FLO member and tried everything and can only get a random few vids to view. I tried search with no luck. I clicked on results tab, then 2017 midlands tab, and then the video tab. I have been having so many problems navigating since they changed their web page. Before it was so easy to watch any type of video. Now its like they do not want you watching all there old videos or something. Any help is much appreciated for this not so tech savvy guy.

Any chance it's not his decision to make?
I have given that thought consideration. I have not come up with a reason why it isn't though.
I thought when they had him go at 165 early the Marinelli injury was more significant that what it apparently is.

I think Suriano - Lee situation is unique in that I believe both fathers were able to use their sons great ability to better themselves personally.
I'm actually not about about that ,because of all the commitment both families made to get their son to that level. In some other sports all that investment a family puts in is rewarded with the potential of being rewarded a large pro contract. In wrestling its far more limited in financial growth for the participants.
I'll pull for Lee if they meet up but Lee better have the lead going into the 3rd period, Suriano gas tank will be better.

Found them all here. (Will have the result in the link).

Takes some clicking around, but since they were most recently uploaded you can find them here as well without the spoiler. (You'll need to make sure you click sort by "Most Recent" on the upper right hand side.

Well, since Nick Suriano no longer has ties to PA, I'm pulling for Spencer Lee to win.
Agree , knew he was great and thought if anyone was ready to go as a true freshman he was. That being said still surprised what he did yesterday, baffled why they haven’t pulled the shirt

Because Iowa hasn't needed to, and Lee has barely wrestled a half dozen real matches since recovering from the knee injury. There really is no need to burn the redshirt, though it may happen in the next few weeks.

I'm rooting for Spencer, for sure. We'll see if I can continue to do so once he has that black & gold singlet on though.....

I would think Spencer is a likely candidate for an Olympic RS in 2019-2020, and I just do not see him sticking around college wrestling for 6 years. I would think the plan is to see how the knee holds up with a multi-day tournament and see how it feels tomorrow and the next...if it feels ok, I'd be a bit surprised if he doesn't wrestle moving forward.

Agree, especially with his injury history. The knee not really a concern (many people have come back from an ACL injury without issue going forward), the shoulder is a different concern (lots of people have had careers ended because of recurring shoulder injuries). If he is healthy, pull the shirt.

T-Shirt, 3-0, still no takedowns. Possibly even no shots taken.
I don't know what happened to tshirt. Coming out of HS he was a shooting machine. I saw him in FS easily beat Darrien Caldwell, and was quite aggressive in the win. But even in his FR NC year, he was conservative. It only got worse after that. The same thing happened to Delgado. Maybe the pressure of success makes some get more afraid of losing than wrestling aggressively to win. I'm sure glad that isn't the PSU way!!

They have watched this in the room daily. They have been gauging the knee durability daily. I doubt the knee has been the main concern for a while. Just my guess, but the question is probably centering around go all in this year with everybody or hold everybody back. Spencer is obviously ready. After he beats the Rutgers kid I am betting he is in the lineup for the rest of the year. Regardless of 184 and 197.

round of consi before the semis in case people of things to do other than be plaster to their PCs and TVs

if your bored the kolat video has been on flo zone....gosh this is compelling and Ive watched it probably 3 or 4 times before.

So many layers to these two messages.

Roar, are you asking if dunke is currently sober, or if he was sober when he watched the Kolat video three or four times?

If you wonder if he is sober now, is that because you are questioning his Roger Ebert review, or the complete lack of punctuation and any semblance of grammar in his message?

If you wonder if he was sober the first three or four times he watched the Kolat video, are you wondering if being sober might have affected his recollection of how good the show was? Or, are you asking for a recommendation of how YOU should watch the show?

This is strictly a rhetorical message. Just how my mind is working today.

Just looking for that next opportunity to tell him to avoid the driver's side of an automobile (goes for everyone that reads this, by the way). All about the safety thing :).

...oh, and punctuation/spelling is not a strong suit. Once upon a time, I thought he was making fun of the Rutgers dude that was equally inept...now I'm not sure.

...and one more thing...forget rhetoric, I answered anyway.

Whew, I thought you were going to suggest a breathalyzer to unlock his device for posting, which would be a dangerous precedent for a lot of us!:)
