RIP Jack. Condolences to his family and loved ones. Loved it whenever he posted. Crazy how I only knew him by his screen name until now but feel very much like I lost a dear friend. He will be very much missed.

Sad news. I wish he could have watched the Hawks win the title one more time.
He was one heck of a wrestling fan. He always reminded me of my old man between the typing and the Hawk fandom.
Pretty sure folks on here met him at nationals or b14s. He was a true blue Iowa fan but also a fan of the sport

I had the pleasure of meeting Jack a few times. The guy loved the sport and knew his shit. We lost a good one.
I know of at least one. Reached out to him as we haven't seen him post in a while.
Sadly, I did not have a chance to meet him. Wish I had, one of the good guys. May his family have comfort in this difficult time.

Man, that is really tough news. We certainly have our differences of opinion and are passionate about our respective teams, but the wrestling community is tighter than any other I have experienced. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

So sad to hear. I met Jack in person in Oklahoma City in 2014, and we had stayed in touch periodically. I considered him a friend and will miss his kind soul. God Speed MinnHawkeye!!
His obituary says 82. Thats a good stretch in my book. Anybody here close to that age?

MinnHawkeye's passing diminishes us all as his informed civility raised us all. He will be missed.
My bad. I really was reacting to realizing he was 82 and still going hard. I'm glad Chief shared his obituary on HR. It looks like he had a full life with many great stories to tell. Like several have said before, he has the best seat to watch Hawkeye wrestling now

Roar posted not long ago about there being 1 percenters on both ends of the spectrum. Jack was 100 percent... WITHOUT A DOUBT...a TOP 1 percenter on these boards. Didn't know him outside of here but enjoyed him immensely.
