Murin to Iowa

Guess you guys will have to become Hawkeye fans with all the PA men on the team. We already have plenty of fans but a few more wont hurt!

You have to admit it's a little amusing to see Iowa ramping up their program by loading up on PA guys.

Perhaps, but it will not be amusing to us if they reclaim the title by doing so. That would just be salt in the wound.

This arms race is getting more interesting by the month, assuming most commits hold true.

I like having a competitive Iowa--it's great for the sport. PSU is still doing great in the recruiting department; can't get everyone, but we're getting the majority of the ones we want.

Anybody else find it humorous that so many PA kids seem to be taking the attitude I can't make that team's (PSU's) lineup so I'll give Iowa a try. They have a pretty decent program too.;):)

Noted exception, SL.

Im actually looking forward to seeing them lose. I know I should maybe feel some shame having said that but they are the enemy now. It's going to be a joy to read the Iowa boards, bitching about their PA studs (that were suppose to put them over the top) not being good enough to finally beat Cael's teams.

Murin is a lot better then you guys think....He would beat teasdale now....They got another good one....Still think Spencer wakes up and commits to the best program n the nation...I would LOVE my kid to be Coached by Cael and have a shot to wrestle in that room....
He probably 2 weight classes bigger than Teasdale. He should beat him. To me, Murin is no big loss. I'd rather have Nick Lee if they both end up at the same weight class and it's not even close in my opinion. No matter where Murin ends up weight wise, I'm certain Cael will have a much better wrestler at his weight.

I thought that was where Teasdale projects. I know some Iowa fan were insistent that Teasdale was a 141 or 149 after he gave his verbal. Maybe somehow he shrunk back down after Meja and Renteria decommitted?

No way does Max beat Gavin. Him and CJ Manley are close (edit) and I honestly didn't think about the weight difference when I first posted... I bet Max walks around in the neighborhood of 140. I would still put my money on Gavin live for takedowns. All day long. If CJ Manley keeps his head on straight and keeps working hard VA Tech will be really happy with him and I think the same can be said for Iowa with Murin.

All of this says more about the general caliber of PA wrestling than anything else.

Depends on the weight difference. At some point it's going to trump skill. Gavin is a more accomplished wrestler.

true.

for future reference, the use of the word "fact" is very contextual and not always based in facts.

pure guess but I would think Max and Teaz are only +/- 10lbs apart.

Doesnt bother me at all to see Penn state fans arguing over who the better Hawk recruit is. Not a bad problem to have.

It's like "losing" Josh Maruca. Good wrestler, but we'll be more than fine at his weight. At the very least, Nick Lee trumps Murin all day

PSU likely needs another 141/149 recruit by 2018, but I'm sure they will find a good one.

Edit: I suppose they could stretch it out to 2019 if it's a guy like Raimo

Yeah, you've got to figure we'll be focusing on NJ with him and Griffith coming along. Success for Suriano will help with kids from east of the Delaware I would think.

It's logical that this board is Pa-centric, but the Commonwealth pumps out your Murin's annually.
