First, I'm glad his shirt is pulled if that's what he and Cael wanted - which I have to assume so. I like Morelli's grit but this certainly gives team much better chance to win NCAA.
Second, he looked a bit lost out there even though he fared well at Scuffle against very good (even better per rankings) competition. Maybe the big lights of CHA had something to do with that. Maybe he wrestled more loose at Scuffle. Some more team match reps will be valuable
Third, Hall does look very undersized compared to competition. I doubt if more than 3 pounds difference is present at weigh ins. Body types can be very deceptive however; he did look out-muscled during that match. People guess my weight to be 20-25 pounds less that it is - maybe out of politeness, but I think it's due to deceptive muscle mass...thick muscles which are heavier. Maybe Hall's muscles are more thick which adds to the deception of size. Thicker muscles shouldn't mean less strength though. Regardless, if both guys weigh in at 174, then it's all "equal".
Last, I'm not concerned with Hall. Obviously, he has the skills and apparent drive to be one of the next great PSU wrestlers with some more experience. For now, he needs to capitalize on quickness and slickness of takedowns - no gimmick moves, build a nice lead and then work on his turns and pinning combinations. Notwithstanding any flukes, I look for him to be 1-4 at NCAA's - would not be surprised by either place within that range. I think we're in store for another phase of excitement in PSU wrestling.
