National Duals - Penn State to host OK State (Sun - 5 p.m.)

If the committee voted PSU AND Iowa #1 Im ok with it. If when this concludes monday night we are named Co-NWCA Nat Duals champs with iowa, Im ok with that too and dont see the big deal.

If you need PSU to be the #1 Dual team to satisfy some urge so be it but I wont be pulling a Jamz at any point in the future. Just feels icky....just a little bit mind you.

Nope, PSU was a unanimous #1 in the just released poll used to determine match-ups - CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO 2/15/2016 NWCA POLL. PSU is shown with 12 first place votes and 300 points (each 1st place vote is 25 points, 2nd 24 points, etc....). Iowa was 2nd with 287 points, but for whatever odd reason was not a unanimous 2nd on all 12 ballots as 11 x 24 = 264 + 1 ballot at 23 points (e.g., 3rd) = 287 total.

So the reference to Iowa being #1 in the body of the Release was clearly a "Freudian slip" typo, but again, it speaks volumes about the professionalism of the NWCA and how they run things (extremely non-transparent) that the final release would contain such an error relative to their own Poll in the body of the release.

Tom Ryan identified 11 schools as voters in the coaches poll (maybe he's the 12th?) Anyway, he said the coaches from Bloomsburg, Drexel, Chattanooga, Penn, Northwestern, Iowa State, Wyoming, Stanford, Buffalo, Maryland and Virginia Tech had votes in this year's polls.

Okay, according to that, and contrary to what is implied at the NWCA website ("Poll Committee made up of one coach from each conference...."), EWL would have 1 coach (Bloomsburg), the EIWL would have 2 coaches votes (Drexel and Penn), the B1G would have 3 coaches votes (NW, MD and tO$U), the B12 would have 2 coach's vote (ISU and Wyoming), the ACC would have 1 coach's vote (VT), the Pac12 would have 1 Coach's vote (Stanford), the MAC would have 1 coach's vote (Buffalo) and the SoCon would have 1 coach's vote (Chattanooga).

I think the NWCA meant to say that each conference would have at least 1 coach participant, not that the Committee is made up of one coach from each conference which it clearly isn't..... Gee, I wonder how they come up with this mix and how they determine which coaches from any given conference will participate?

We can add this latest mystery to the search for truth about the Bermuda Triangle, the Lockness Monster, and the location of Jimmy Hoffa. Because it all matters right?
