So much for Conel of Kent State being able to beat anyone. Macchiavello of NC State wins by Fall.

That's O.K. Conel did his job by taking out Tosu's moore. :)

Team: Ohio State – NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

There you have it! Ohio State will put five guys in the finals and finish with four champions and nine All-Americans to take the crown back from the Nittany Lions of Penn State and go down as one of the greatest teams in history. I do know one thing, The Inside Trip will be there to watch and you should be too!

Looks like FAKE NEWS to me! :D

I dint follow wrestling so explain a few things

What are wrestle backs?

Is there a point total that when reached, it becomes impossible to lose the NC?

Does OSU have s chance to beat PSU? Does anyone else?

Below link is for the Penn State Wresting Club and shows current team standings. It shows current points and maximum points available if all remaining points are via fall. Of course that's unlikely.

What are wrestle backs? (Think of them as the loser's bracket)

Is there a point total that when reached, it becomes impossible to lose the NC? (Not a point total but at some point, you can have a lead that would be impossible for the second place team to overcome. That hasn't happened yet and probably won't before the finals tomorrow).

Does OSU have s chance to beat PSU? (Yes) Does anyone else? (No)

Short answers as I am not a wrestling aficionado.

Wrestle backs- it is the consolation bracket to determine third through 8 place i believe. Teams get points for these matches as well.

No, it’s based on how many total wrestlers you have, how far they advance and how they win, Decision, major decision, tech fall or fall.

Yes they still do. If our 5 in the finals do not perform well and the OSU wrestlers still wrestling keep winning then OSU can catch us. I’m not sure if the value of the wins in the finals as opposed to the points award in the consulation rounds.

My guess is if the PSU wrestlers do well say 3 National Champs then we may be tough to beat.

Other more knowledgeable, please correct me or expand.

So if both teams win out, OSU wins, unless we go head to head with them? Does OSU have an easier road because their wrestlers face less skilled opponents in the wrestle backs, than ours do in the finals?

Can't expect much less from a couple OSU clowns.

No expert here but Retherford should be a big favorite. Nickal will be a slight favorite vs. Martin from OSU. I think we'll be tough to beat if we win those 2 matches.

Nolf, Joseph, and Hall all face higher seeded wrestlers so winning just 1 of those would make things easier.

I think it is more complicated than that. The max team points is based on every wrestler winning by fall. The points awarded is based on major decision, tech fall, fall...etc. I honestly don’t know the details of how points are awarded but I do know it depends on the type of win.

Here is an ElevenWarriors post about their road to victory.

Rough night but not all hope is lost! We’ve been in this situation before vs PSU (think football season) and came out victorious and this is how we do it.

125 NaTo- major Rivera then win 3rd (Cruz probably)

133 Pletcher- win twice place 3rd

141 Mckenna- Major Jack then win 3rd, Nick Lee lose twice place 6th

149- Retherford by tech fall

157- Nolf wins, Micah beats Berger again then places 4th

165- IMar beats Joseph

174- Valencia beats Hall (did it earlier this year), Bo loses twice and gets 6th

184- Nickal beats Miles

197- Kollin beats Darmstadt, then wins again to place 3rd. Rasheed wins places 7th

285- Snyder wins!! Nevills wins and places 7th.

If all this happens, THE Ohio State University- 138 PSU- 136

I told you think football season right??

Another one:

I’ve been on both sides of the positive and negative today. If someone wanted to show me a realistic picture, here is what I think it would take:

5 of 6 of Pletcher, Micah, Bo, Moore, McKenna, and NATO get 3rd.

Snyder wins.

Jospeph and Nolf losing. Joseph is likely, Nolf is very possible. Hall, Retherford, and Nickal all winning (sorry, my eyes tell me Martin can’t beat him ever again)

with no bonus points, someone run the score with that scenario. Then I’ll tell you how likely it is.
