New clock rule after 1st downs not popular.

From Franklin himself today when asked about the clock changes.

"I don't hear anybody complaining about watching football and enjoying football so I think there's reasons why we're doing it other than specifically what we're stating we're doing it for."

People can’t get mad at more commercials IF they are fans of the amount of money these schools are collecting with these huge TV deals. How do people think the networks make their money?
I never understood this argument. How has the increase in money from the networks improved the game or fan experience? If they payouts and football budgets magically decreased by 50%, we wouldn't even be able to tell the difference.

I guess you can argue that the olympic sports would be impacted, but as for football itself, not so much. I would rather see the network money/influence reduced and they can make up some of the shortfall by reducing the number of Assistant ADs and keeping some of these sports regional. No reason the women's cornhole team needs to across the country for a match. ;)

Less plays is also about player safety.
As they expand the playoffs...

Agreed. If the amount of commercial time was reduced and TV payouts were cut, it would affect all programs. The Big Ten and PSU would still make relatively a lot more than the ACC, Big 12, etc so the financial advantage would remain. Why should I a fan care that college football overall makes more money? How do I benefit?

Without that influx of TV money, PSU would have to raise the price of things like parking, and you wouldn't be parking in a grass field for the bargain price of $80.
