New to board.

The ref missed this pin so bad.

lots of folks claim as much. I could not tell for sure from the video.

Would the officiating committee come out and say that the ref missed the call?

no. pins are a judgement call, and not something that can be appealed or reviewed. plus, the rare times when we get comments about blown calls are in situations where leagues employ/and contract with a set group of officials. (Like in football, there are B1G refs, ACC refs, SEC refs, etc.) I'm still trying to get confirmation, but I'm almost certain that's not how refs work with regards to wrestling. So, there isn't a head of B1G wrestling to come out and say anything.

Not sure how Hagerty missed it Tom. The pic posted here on the board shows both blades down and the ref looking right at it. I would like to hear the explanation he gave Cael after that bout. Cael and the coaches were about as upset as I have seen them after a bout. I give the ref's the benefit of the doubt almost all the time as it's not easy by any stretch. But he is a respected ref who I think just had a bad day....

I agree. Felt terrible for Jimmy!!! Any news on Nick Suriano! Praying it's not serious!

I don't know the scoring rules, so this may be a dumb question. Since he nearly pinned him twice why was he never awarded near fall points?

He was never awarded a takedown so they were still neutral therefore no near fall points. You can score a fall from neutral as was scene at rec hall when Law was pinned against Maryland.

Where's the pic of his shoulders down? Link?

What was revealed, and has not been discussed much, is that Jimmy Gulibon can beat anyone now, and everyone knows it.

Ut oh...

As much for Jimmy as for the team I'd love to see him make a run to the finals. Seems like a really nice kid. Had struggled at times but always wrestled where the team needed him to.. is really now firing on all cylinders..
