NFL Christmas games on Netflix only

Now that password sharing has been cracked down on, and many have introduced tiered pricing to avoid ads, I bet the next shoe to drop will be the ability to cancel anytime. Streaming is dramatically cheaper if you just carry 1-2 at a time and rotate them periodically to watch the new content you care about. Once you've watched it, cancel. Eventually (already?) the subscriber growth will stop and these companies will all start forcing minimum term subscriptions to boost average revenues amongst the existing subscribers. Eventually streaming is going to look just like cable did, then some other new "next best thing" will come along and replace it.

can somebody please post their Netflix usercode and password please? thanks in advance.

I don't have a problem with them using Netflix per se or even the additional date/day of the weeks for games, but I wish they would have fewer broadcasting partners. It's annoying to add Netflix when they already were streaming exclusive games on Prime, Peacock and ESPN+. Couldn't these extra games have gone to one of those providers that already featured NFL games?

And of course that's already on top of games being on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network.

At some point, some simplicity would be beneficial.
FWIW, there was a day when people made your same complaint about games moving to cable-only outlets like ESPN with no OTA broadcast option.

Wow. Go get starlink or a verizon cube if you have 5G there. Then steam Hulu or Youtube or Tivo or Fubo streaming service. Should all cost you just over $100/mo. And you can use the streaming services at any home for no additional cost (and on the road).

It's not easy to save money cutting the cord unless you want to cut a bunch of channels out, or you're lucky.

He said he's paying almost $300 ... I'm paying about $330. That includes stuff like MGM+, Max, Paramount+ w/Showtime, and they even pay for some of the Netflix cost (add'l upgrade to Premium on me). I get 1200 Mbps for my internet - I don't even think they offer that anymore ... max is 800 Mbps. So if you just used them for the 800 Mbps internet option, it's $115 (with modem). I would have to opt for Direct TV Streaming because virtually no other streamers carry NESN (Bruins and Sox), so that's at least $85 for the Choice package, but that cuts out Netflix, MAX, Paramount, MGM and Peacock. Adding those back in, you're back up to at least $257 ... before all the taxes and fees they ding you with. So I'm back up to $280 or more, and I lost a bunch of movie channels and other channels I may or may not need or like to have around.

Beneficial for us, maybe ... but not for them (at least not now). These streamers want eyeballs, and they're probably willing to pay a premium, so the NFL doles out some to these guys, some to those guys and some more to someone else ... if they packaged all those games up, they're excluding various streamers and likely lose the premium pricing.

Lets see. I got lucky and have 1 G internet for $35/month.

Then my cable is Hulu for $80. Netflix for $20. Max for $16. Apple for $10. Amazon Prime for $15.

That's $176.

If I ever retire, I'll do two at a time and save myself around $25 per month.

I wasn't even counting the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle, Amazon Prime or Apple streaming, since those are separate additional costs under both options. Tack on another $40 or whatever.

I'm glad I don't have to scrimp and save, because having to juggle all those things, cancelling one, starting up another ... and on and on ... just isn't worth the hassle. I'll just pay the extra money so I can have what I want, when I want.

My problem with the NFL is more than the cost of adding streaming. First, in the good old days….. Saturday was college football, Sunday was pro. Then they snuck in a Monday night. Ok, one game.

Now there are Thursday night games, Sat games late season after college is over and now Wednesday games. College has Friday nights, Tuesday nights.

Every single night. But I actually have a life. I actually have other interests. Even have a family and friends. Screw the greedy SOBs.

Worse, you used to know when games were on and maybe three channels to find them. Now you need the NFL app to know what the hell is going on. Schedule your life around them.

Switching channels takes forever instead of nearly instantaneous like it used to be. Wanna track a couple games and you spend a third of the time in limbo waiting for the switch to load. And hate using multiple screens as it’s too distracting.

Seems they have killed the golden goose. Will be spending a lot more time in my garden and wood shop.
Not to mention it has become the WFL, they condemn a good family man, and condone inappropriate and abusive behavior.

Yep. In one week the NFL media cheered Kelcy chugging a beer at his graduation ceremony and admonished a guy who preached virtues and that women need not be ashamed to want to be a mom.

To be fair, they only said he spoke on his own behalf and they didn't agree with most of what he said for which they were criticizes by some for not being inclusive of his beliefs and attacked by others for not condemning him. Reality is that should have just said he's entitled to his views and left it at that.

Not sure what issue you have with Kelce chugging a beer but he also didn't say women don't need to be ashamed if they want kids. Not even remotely close to what he said.

If you are considering going to all of the games in person I assume you are local to the area. If so, you can watch all of the games on network television, for free, with an antenna. The NFL has already said these Netflix games will be broadcast in local markets.

The problem is for fans out of a direct local market.

Harrisburg is Eagles territory with a lot of Steeler fans as well. (It seems like half of Pittsburgh has moved to south central PA the past 10 years or so). In the past it was never a problem- Eagles on CBS, Steelers on NBC.

Then, the Cleveland Browns owners moved to Baltimore of all places. They apparently failed to notice before the move that the area was already part of the Redskins and Eagles broadcast territories with very little room for Baltimore. So, the NFL brain trust in NYC decided to carve out south central PA as ‘Baltimore territory’ to appease the Browns/ Ravens.

The result was the state capital of PA can’t get the Steelers games unless they are playing at different time than the Ravens. If on at the same time, Baltimore gets shown on tv. The Netflix requirement hurts Steeler fans in Pennsylvania unless they live in western PA.

Agree. But just to be clear, Art Modell had two problems: a bad heart and no cash. He owned a billion-dollar property but had to beg banks to loan him money for a prized free agent's salary (and this was before salaries got crazy). Baltimore game him a lot but it included a $25m payout. The idea was that if Art died suddenly, his heirs would have enough cash to pay their inheritance tax. That and a new stadium is why he left. Why did the Colts leave? Baltimore had laws that stated you couldn't sell beer on Sundays and that games couldn't start before 2:00 (so people could get to church). Baltimore lost a lot of TV and booze revenue.
