I’m reading a lot of angst on this board about whether Clifford will be OK or whether the OL or DL will step up against Wisconsin. I think they will, but a key point I haven’t seen discussed on this board is how awful the offensive playcalling was last year particularly in the red zone with KC at the helm. Lots of key moments with predictable calls, playing right into the hands of other defenses. In 2020 Penn State red zone scoring percentage was 73%, or 110th out of 130 teams in FBS. That’s awful!

I think with Yurcich you’re going to see much better playcalling, keeping defenses this year off balance. Look for our offensive red zone scoring percentage to increase dramatically this year. I predict the Nits will have one of the top teams in that stat this year - mostly due to much better offensive playcalling.
