Official March Madness thread.

Please.... that doesn’t fit the narrative that duke gets all the calls, thus no one’s gonna mention those.
Like they don’t mention that Duke had more fouls called against them than UCF did and Duke had more players that had to play with foul trouble...but that also doesn’t fit the narrative. I told my son when Duke was losing that if they came back and won I could get on this message board and see posters saying it was because of the refs. So predictable.

The only call I didn't like the entire game was Tacko's 3rd foul. The refs seemingly made up for it by not calling him for another down the stretch (think it was around the 11 minute mark), but TF played very reluctant the rest of the way defending.

I thought it was a very fun game. Best of the tournament this far.

And UVA won again.

Because we are correct.

No problem with you not seeing that.

And I don’t think I’ve been disrespectful of your support of Coach K or Duke over the years either. (Me being a KU fan has NOTHING to do with my comment on this game.)

Some things NEVER change is referring to officials seldom having the balls to make the tough but correct call when the game is on the line.

Tonight’s call was simply the college version of the calls we see in the pros all the time with King James.....or Harden....or Durant. The big studs and the big stars get the calls.....or the non-calls.....most of the time and especially when the game is on the line.

Yep!

Whatever. I've always been respectful of KU and your support. I really didn't like your sour grapes on the officiating.

And OF COURSE Duke’s big star gets the no-call on the charge with 15 seconds left AND gets the foul called.
Some things NEVER change.

That's not commentary. That is whining.

Put him on ignore then me and him can party!

:D:p:D

Yup. People just love to whine about Duke. Calling Zion for a charge at the end would have been a travesty. Who wants to see the game end on a borderline call?

And Duke had two completely clean blocks in the game that were called fouls. Spotted UCF 5 points right there.

I don't appreciate whining about officiating, unless it's a legitimate blown call (which amounts to about .1% of actual whining about officiating), but whether something is a charge, or not a charge, shouldn't hinge on whether it's the beginning, middle or end of the game. I also don't care if a ref "blew" a call earlier in the game ... it doesn't excuse a bad call later in the game. Note that I'm not opining on this particular call.

And the Carolina blue glasses you watch Duke’s games through has nothing to do with what you see...got it.

HERE ya go sport;

Just watched the replays of the Zion drive and also the R.J. offensive putback off the missed FT.

Looked like Zion extended his left arm on B.J. Taylor on the drive, and also R.J. pushed Dawkins to get the board.

Duke got a favorable whistle. Not exactly shocking. -Jeff Goodman

Hope you 'get it' now.

The world saw it. Try to keep up now.

Come on AW, please! We're good but respectfully disagree.

This tournament has been blah so far. No mid majors left, unless you count Gonzaga. No buzzer beaters. Only a few exciting games. 1,2,3 seeds all advancing.

But just ignore the multitude of calls that went against Duke the rest of the game. If the officials really wanted to make sure Duke won why not just not count the basket on the put back? Why not just call the obvious foul on Fall that would have given him his fourth foul way earlier (which would have been the correct call)? Why call more fouls on Duke than UCF throughout the game? How about the obvious travel on the UCF guard late in the game which would have given Duke the ball back? If they were trying to make sure Duke won, they did a lousy job of it. Don’t worry, people will be able to pick apart the UNC game and cherry pick certain missed calls to make an argument that the refs are in the bag for UNC.

Like I’ve tried to say MULTIPLE times... life on this website is so much better when you put that tool on ignore. Just remove the idiocy from your life as a whole. I know it sounds cliche, but the saying “you can’t fix stupid” is 100% correct.

I have not paid much attention to the brackets, but Harvard was a 6-seed? We can't come close to making the tournament, but Harvard was a 6-seed? Yeah, just give Chambers more time. It's also easier for Harvard to recruit seeing as they're in Boston.

In the NIT. Yale won the ivy and went to the Dance. They were a 14.

I didn’t realize that was an NIT result. My dumbery really knows no bounds.

The Yale seed makes more sense.

espn had the Harvard score at the top of their home page mixed in with some big-dance games.

My OUTRAGE. concerning Chambers still stands just because. Use any argument possible, real or imaginary, to make the point.

Is Texas Tech really that good or is Michigan playing a crappy game? How on earth are they only at 40 points with 2 minutes left? Yuch... had M in the Final Four lol.

TT reached the Elite Eight last year, they are no fluke. Won the Big 12 this year (along with K-St), split two games with KU. One of the top defensive teams in the country.

That said, UMich was ready to set the ALL TIME NCAA tourney record going 0-18 shooting 3s until a sub hit one with 20 seconds left. Damn!

My pool of 8 guys, I had pick #6 (Tennessee) then with pick #11 took TT.

Never sorry to see the Wolverines go down. John Beilein did not have a happy face.
