D'Emilio has turned it on this season.
So looking forward to watching Sealey. He’s really good, but hasn’t had much mat time.
Real good bout at 149. SVN had about four real good shots but just couldn't finish; credit to D'Emilio. Finally broke through in the last 5 seconds of the match.
It drives me crazy how he is in deep and then let’s go of the leg to go seatbelt, bodylock, or cowcather. Super high percentage to super low percentage. If he stays on the legs he finishes a much higher percent I think
I mean, I hope Joe looks better in the room…
157 - Joe Sealey VS Brandon Cannon
Period 1:
Let's go Joe! Tying up & hand fighting to start. Cannon reaches for an ankle, but no luck, and then does it again. Sealey tries a throw by & Cannon gets a leg. Cannon finishes the TD, 3-0. Sealey gets to his feet & quickly gets the escape, 3-1, 2-min left. Cannon shoots, but no luck. Sealey pushes forward & hits some hard snaps. Sealey snaps & tries to come behind, but no luck. Cannon shoots, but Sealey blocks him off. Cannon shoots, but no luck. Sealey shoots, but Cannon blocks him off. More circling & tying up to end the period. 3-1 Cannon
Period 2:
Sealey takes down. Cannon gets Sealey bellied out. Sealey is having a little trouble getting off his belly & gets hit with a stall warning. Canon goes over 1-min RT. Sealey gets back to his base. He sits out, but Cannon gets Sealey bellied out again. Stalemate & restart. Sealey gets to his feet, but Cannon brings him back to the mat. Cannon gets Sealey bellied out again & Sealey gets stall warning #2, point Cannon, 4-1. Cannon rides out the period. 4-1 Cannon, +2:06 RT
Period 3:
Cannon takes down & Sealey concedes the escape, 5-1, neutral start. Cannon shoots & gets a leg. He keeps working & gets another TD, 8-1. RT is locked for Cannon. Sealey needs an escape to avoid the major. Sealey gets to his feet, but Cannon trips him back to the mat. Sealey is bellied out again & gets his 3rd stall warning, another point Cannon, 9-1. Cannon rides out the period.
Sealey needs to practice his escapes. He didn't appear to have much energy either. I wonder if he had a hard cut getting down to 157? That was a lackluster performance.

Joe doesn't look like he wants to be wrestling.
Bottom has always been Sealeys weakest spot. Usually took neutral in high school. Hopefully he can get going on his feet
Or not. Pretty ugly debut for a guy I’m super high on. Sealey isn’t doing anything on bottom but cannon has never once got off to the side. Just straight parallel ride

Look; Freshman get ridden. Just wondering why Sealey, who has no matches, instead of Pierce or Evans
Freshman and all. Injuries and all. The way that match went does not portend good things in this room.
He didn't look so great in neutral either. Tried throwbys that he wasn't really working fast enough.
I always thought parallel rides got called stalling on top wrestler.
Someone said "as advertised" in this thread?

Are you saying he is going to get worked hard? Or is he not going to get a spot.
Not good there, kind of shocked to be honest. An optimist would say that coming off of an injury and having your first college match in a hostile environment like this is a lot to ask. Luckily they don't need Sealey to score points for them until at least 2034.
