Ohio State, Ohio State, Ohio State, Ohio State, Ohio State ... Articles/Discussion

Did anyone else see the Michigan cheerleaders carrying Michigan as the Wolverines came out of the tunnel to start the game? They were corralled by the PSU cheerleaders and the PSU team.

Yes. We were chuckling about that, as it looked like the UM cheerleaders were trying to crash the PSU party, much like their team busted onto the field just before ours. All of a sudden they must have felt like the wagon trains in those old movie westerns! They started milling around, looking for some way - any way - out!

Really looking forward to this OSU game

There is that "it" factor in sports sometimes. That feeling that the chemistry and "want to" on a team supersedes all other factors. They really should have lost at Iowa, but they just refused to let it happen. I am beginning to think this team prepares harder, works harder, and has a stronger desire to win than any team in the country. Now, does that mean the ball can't bounce the other way on a given Saturday resulting in a loss? Of course not...but if I was a betting man, i'd have a tough time betting against the lions against any foe, that includes the Bucks and the Tide. I was truly stunned when they lost to USC in the rose bowl, it took a couple small miracles(tipped third down completion) and injury(Bell) to lose that game. If they don't lose it, they are what? 17-0 since the Michigan game last year? Hot as a pistol and full of belief.

Let's not go overboard. Michigan isn't that good. We barely escaped with a road win and Iowa and tOSU is much, much better than Iowa. I am not saying it is dire straights (cue the band) but I am saying it is nothing to count as a W yet.

1. Before PSU curbstomped that D Everyone, and I mean Everyone was saying that Hurst and Gary were going to pressure the PSU O-line and cause chaos and havc....Now "they aren't that good.....BS

2. Barely escaped a road win at Iowa....go look up Iowa's record at home, at night, vs top 5 or 10 opponents and then tell me how many teams actually beat them.

3. OSU plays @ Iowa this year only not at night....so we'll see how much, much, much, better OSU is than Iowa.

Not saying it's a W but give it a rest on saying how crappy PSU's competition has been.

Just living in reality. I think we all knew going in Michigan's offense was pathetic. We all said it on this board. And Iowa is Iowa. I mean, they aren't better than tOSU are they? What, are you saying Pitt is a power??

Sure everyone though Michigans D-Line would have some success, but its pretty obvious that their offense is absolutely terrible, so unless it was a 13-10 game, it wasn't going to happen for them. And using your "Iowa is unbeatable at night" theory, why should we have expected an average Michigan team to do the same at Penn State?

And Iowa is 4-3 and close to being worse. They are 10-4 all time at night, and the last team to beat them at home at night was.......... us in 2012. 38-14. Forgive people if they aren't impressed with this years win.

That being said, we played like crap on the road and still won. Which is a sign of a good team. Can't repeat it at OSU though. They are picking up steam since that Oklahoma egg they laid.

So you go on a rant about Penn State's weak opponents and then end your post with OSU is picking up steam... against UNLV, Rutgers, Army, Maryland and Nebraska. Army has the highest rated total defense of the bunch at 56. It's only that high because they run the ball 88% of the time which keeps their defense off the field. The rest are UNLV 122nd. Maryland 105th. Nebraska 71st. Rutgers 62nd.

That being said, I have no idea how this game is going to play out.

One angle I can't figure out is everyone saying that OSU has the "revenge factor" this year. How??? Because they lost? Ask any OSU fan (and probably any OSU player from last year in a private moment) and they will tell you the following:

1) PSU won on a fluke play
2) OSU dominated the game statistically
3) OSU still made the playoffs while being beat by PSU and not winning the BIG

So...Who really has the "revenge factor"? If I'm a PSU player, all I've heard for the past year is:

1) PSU won on a fluke play
2) OSU dominated the game statistically
3) PSU didn't make the playoffs DESPITE beating OSU and winning the BIG

Seems like PSU has more of a revenge chip on their shoulder. No DOUBT this is being drilled into their heads this week. Who knows what this translates to on the field, but I think this team is focused and they have been told there's only one way to get where you want to go...and that's be 1-0 every week. They will be focused

Not sure where the Pitt comment comes from? Also, did not say that Iowa is better than OSU just pointing out that playing at Kinnick at night is not easy and OSU will have a hard time there but you just discount them entirely. Anyway...enjoy watching PSU getting blown out this week..I'm sure that's your prognostication.

Well good thing we have Barkley then.

yep, that's what they all say...we got nothing but Barkley, only Barkley scares us...Good, then let everyone else beat your arse just like they've done to everyone that focuses on only Barkley....that philosophy seems to be working

Kinnick at nigh in Iowa in the middle of nowhere is not easy. Jewell has been out for Iowa too lately, they stood zero chance without him vs PSU. Also, we actually dominated that game yardage wise, a couple of big plays hurt us bad but not bad enough. I think that game was a great lesson for this one.

“I want Penn State to win,” defensive end Nick Bosa had said on Wednesday. “I want them to be coming in nice and on their high horse."

Honestly don’t get why the B1G networks boys are picking OSU. Penn State is solid head to toe.
