Ohio State - TCU game thread

That play was cute and all but that was so far forward it wasn't even funny.

And now that's 3 plays where Turpin has killed the Frogs -- the hold on the TD in the first quarter, a drop for a first down 2 possessions ago, and now this bad execution on the trick play.

Having two losses killed us. We would have been in with one. Even 1 being the Michigan blowout

Just to be clear though: if we had beaten Pitt in 2016, we would have made the CFP, but so would tOSU. It's Washington that would have been left out.

Total implosion. A lot of it is Pattersons' fault: Got super conservative with the lead, defense let up and stopped blitzing, stupid lateral, followed by the punt botch. That's all it takes to lose a game.

Despite the current score, hope this game has opened some eyes for all the chicken littles saying we can’t beat the buckeyes. Very beatable.

I know what you mean but it's not just media. There's a weird dynamic after good teams lose a game. They can become totally impossible to beat. It's like they get super powers after the loss. I've seen it year after year. It's so much better to catch a team while they believe their own hype.

This is the thing I'm most concerned about. Even ignoring the conference perception, I think we have a better chance to defeat tOSU is they win tonight and are overconfident then if they lose and circle the wagons. I hope the Buckeyes manage to build on this lead and get cocky.

That was a quick answer....TCU offense is shredding OSU...I think they have over 400 yards offense in 3Q.

TCU has been looking for that long ball throughout the game and it's been there but that was the first time it was on target where the receiver could get it. Lots of game left in this one if the Frogs D can wake up.

He often is. And he's on Fox. This ESPN hack is Dave something or other. They also employ Lemonnier as a rules 'expert', which is really stretching the definition of the word.
Oh yeah, my bad. I was switching between this game and the Texas game on Fox, and he got a call wrong in that game.

Lol, I don’t think so unfortunately. Our defense is soft, OSU is going to score 45 against us unfortunately.

We may hold them to a little less than that, but I agree that they will score at around 5 TDs on us.

From this game I have concluded that OSU's secondary is very sub-par.

we will need to score early and often

OSU is about to put this away. They have Tulane next week and PSU has Illinois. 9/29 will be one of the biggest games of all time at PSU.

In 40 years of watching college football, I'm not sure I've ever seen a shovel pass get intercepted.

I saw Sam Mills pick off a Bubby Brister shovel pass in the mid 90s but yeah, I don't think I've seen a shovel pass get picked like that one did.

How does Chris Fowler not know that the clock doesn’t stop when you go out of bounds unless you’re under 2 minutes? He’s erroneously said the clock would stop multiple times now this quarter

This is the reason you don't run hyper speed offense against Ohio State. With their depth you need to SLOW THE GAME DOWN, not speed the game up. All that does is elongate the game and allow their depth more chances.

This is why they will struggle at Beaver Stadium also: The crowd noise eliminates high speed offensive play calling. Yes, you CAN run it, but you cannot audible, and at all times you must run silent count. That slows the game down.

We also saw tonight that TCU is, indeed, a Big 12 team and they play Big 12 defense. We are young, but we are better than any Big 12 defense and that includes Oklahoma and West Virginia.

Finally, this was a home game for Ohio State. They still have not played an away game. Their first away game will be in the most difficult place to play in the nation.

Allow me to add this: Texas is going to spank this outfit next week in Austin. They really aren't that good.

The clock stops with going out of bounds. It just restarts once the ball is set, unless you are within the last 2 minutes of the half.

After all the steroids Bosa has done, I am surprised there is any groin left to pull.
