Well, I am going to be in my daughter’s wedding pictures. Big motivator.
...and just to be clear, IM him the pics. we don't need to see them. I don't care how good you look by then.

Wow, that is a lot of steps. Should enter the climbing the Empire State Building......next time they have it.
LOL, no, but I will admit I am shaving seconds off routinely. The four aerobic exercises I like the most are stairs, elliptical, rower ( I rowed crew in college ) and stationary bike. I hate treadmills.

214 today. I figured how to do the loaded carries on the treadmill, and have been doing them for a week. From my experience, this is a a big deal, no way I could hit 200 without them.
Setting the treadmill speed at 3.8mph, I do one minute at 2% incline and three at 7%, that's one set, four minutes, and I do five sets, all with a 15 pound kettlebell being passed from hand to hand every :30 (when at 2%) or :45 (when at 7%). The kettlebell makes a difference, believe me. Very happy to have it back in my arsenal, so to speak. It's not at all fun but it's only twenty minutes with three minutes max of pain at a time. It's doable. Lombardi: "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." (Apropos of nothing, the older I get the more I admire Vince Lombardi.)

Without real exercise I decided to lose 20 lbs. I tried intermitant fasting. I didn't eat after dinner until 11am the next morning. Usually we are done eating dinner by 7pm, sometimes alittle later. From 7pm to 11 am that's 16 hours of not eating. Supposedly you start burning your fat at about 12 hours. I eat like normal from 11am thru dinner. All being I've tried to ear alittle healthier. It is hard once I get up in the morning to make it to 11am without eating. I starting taking a teaspoon of MCT oil. It helps cut the hunger some. Well it worked. Lost 20 pounds. But then the Holidays came along and I started to slide. Ended up putting 10 pounds back on. Rededicated myself and have lost 5 of that 10. Need to keep going and say lose 10 more pounds from here. Then hold it. Try intermitant fasting. It works.

From what I have read, when you have your first meal of the day during IF, make sure to start with proteins before fats.

Hmmm? Didn't know that. I eat some fat because I take Vitamin D and K at 11am. I will look into that. Thanks.

Ok so I will update half way through month.

Weighed in at 232 right after golf this am.
Down 33 lbs but I need to hit 229 or less by March 30. Tough sledding this month as I’m only down 7 lbs.

Ughh. Can it get warmer already. Dear lord I live in south Carolina and it was 50 yesterday for golf.

I just wanted to congratulate those of you participating in this. I just read an article in which they tracked (on fitbits and other bluetooth enabled devices for people weighing themselves) and the average Americans' weight gain during COVID lockdowns and restrictions was 1.5 lbs per month. And they were measuring those with fitness devices so likely it is higher among the less health conscious. At any rate, you all are bucking the trend and hats off to you.

Well, I contributed to the weight gain trend, so I now can contribute to the trend of losing the weight.

Hey Rick, I hope you’re not working too hard with your move.
Moms freaked out and cancelled the move plan. A few weeks ago I met with a builder and he sold the lot we wanted out from under us. Once that happened moms got pissed and said F it let's enjoy the lake this summer (we already paid slip fees $4300) last fall so staying put for now. We were going to build and have a 5 minute walk to Mcdaniels yacht basin.
Kinda pissed kinda chill about it.

Everyone knows you can divide the positive real numbers into two disjoint groups, rational numbers (fractions, or, equivalently, repeating decimals) and irrational numbers. Lambert proved in 1761 that pi is irrational.

Here's a different, more important distinction: algebraic and transcendental (i.e., non-algebraic) numbers. An algebraic number is simply a number which is a zero of some polynomial. Every rational number is algebraic: for example, 2/3 is a zero of the polynomial 3x-2. Some irrational numbers are algebraic: the square root of two is irrational (this is in Euclid's Elements) but it is algebraic because it is a zero of x^2-2. Lindemann proved in 1882 that pi is transcendental. This is historically important because it proved that you can't construct a line segment of length pi by using a ruler and compass. Constructible numbers, at a minimum, have to be algebraic. (More specifically, constructible numbers are algebraic numbers with a minimal polynomial of degree a power of 2, meaning, the polynomial has to have degree 1, 2, 4, 8, etc. You can construct the square root of 2 as it's the hypotenuse of an isosceles right triangle with legs of length 1, but you can't construct the cube root of two because its minimal polynomial is x^3-2, degree 3, not a power of two.)

Small world. My brother-in-law used to keep his boat at McDaniels.

One word.....cremation . That will get you to your birth weight.
You know...I am not so sure about that. Considering the weight of your organs tissues and bones as an adult- I think you would weigh more.

When my father died and cremated his ashes were in a box and it was definitely more than what he would have weighed at birth. Even taking out the weight of the box and bag.

Price of materials is sky and expected to go up even more. Worse they expect shortages of critical materials so your build may have been delayed anyway.
Only downside of waiting is that interest rates will go up substantially next year. Not an issue if selling your current house generates enough to pay for all or a majority of the new build.

This is true. 400% increase on sheets etc. sell high buy high or chill and enjoy the Hopat summer. As for interest, we are cash.

Went to dermatologist on 1/11. Blood pressure was 163/105. Went to primary who gave me three weeks to get it down before meds. Quit alcohol. 1800 cals per day. Walk/run 7-8 miles every day.
Blood pressure normal now and went from 194 to 175 lbs in 5 weeks. Best thing that ever happened to me because I know I can’t go back or I’ll have health issues. Good luck everyone.

stopped tracking calories but generally the same diet. Down to 168 lbs.Running 20+ miles per week. Need to get back into weight training once I can get vaccinated. Was benching 225 a year ago, now the bar might kill me. ;)

Just hit goal of 229 yesterday. Weighed in at 228. Started at 265 Jan 1.

Next goal is 219 for April. This time I’m not having a calorie free for all party to start month.

Pool should be open sometime in April to help with building muscle and cardio that I have been lacking since weather has been terrible for months with all of the rain.

this morning weighed in at 182.

goal met.

next goal is same weight a month from now.

We also spent last week at a small resort in Antigua and I ate 3 meals per day plus drinks and wine daily ( but at a much more reasonable volume than any past trip in my life ). I did keep an eye on volume and kept desserts to a small portion.

Prior to covid, I was doing intermittent fasting and lifting weights/cardio. During covid, i was doing IF and cardio. Once they lifted the restrictions and i went back to the gym, I continued with IF and cardio (treadmill).

Last few weeks I have gotten weight lifting back in my routine, but damned if I can do the IF - I am famished in the morning and feel the need to eat something. Granted, I am still counting calories consumed and burned, but can't seem to do the IF.
