OT - I'm Curious... Where did your BWI handle come from?

My High School nickname was "Yogi". A number of guys from my HS went to PSU and the name followed me. The "man" was added by another PSU friend who's nickname was "Crazyman" since he would constantly crack 1 liners in class and drive us all crazy we called him Crazyman. He then added the "man " to Yogi. I graduated in March 71.

My fathers nickname on the Submarine he served on during the Korean War was..." Cub "...Thus BairCub . He was a Holland Club member highly decorated and my brothers and I established a scholarship in his name at PSU College of Liberal Arts in his honor ( BTW the annual award goes to any returning service personnel who want to further their education and get their degree at Penn State).

For any of you familiar with the Navy
I've grown quite accustomed to seeing a number of the handles on this board over the past 15 + years, even though I didn't post much until recently. In seeing some of the regulars on here over the years, I've always created an image in my head of what people actually look like.

It got me thinking... What's the story behind your handle?

Mine's pretty simple. I was a diehard 15 year old kid that was completely jacked to start the 2001 season with a rare night game against the #2 ranked Miami Hurricanes, scoring a late b-day present from my dad to attend on the 40 yard line. Will never forget Adam running out of that tunnel.

Also, I like that you can see when people joined.

The August 17th, 2001 next to my handle is somewhat creepy for me... 2 reasons:
  1. I can't help but think of the horrible tragedy that would take place less than a month after creating this account. It was a completely different world prior to 9/11, which feels like so long ago... but I can actually say reading this forum was a part of that world! There's not many other examples of that in my life.
  2. This board has been part of my life for HALF of it!.. I just turned 30 in June.
Here's to the next 15 years folks!

Very simply put, Relayer was a much easier handle to use than Tales From Topographic Oceans.

Mine is easy...Penn State is synonymous with trout fishing in those wonderful limestone streams of Central PA like the Little Juniata River. It is a wonder with all the fishing I did that I did not flunk out.

The LittleJ is a favorite of mine that I began fishing with my grandfather when I was about 10yr old. The river has come a long way from its polluted past and is a great place to spend on the water fishing or floating, or hiking the gap upriver of Barree.

"PSUguy" - for obvious reasons (3rd-generation alum and offered 100% tuition scholarship to attend Dickinson Law in the fall, so likely a PSU student again).

"43" - I made this handle right after the Adam Taliaferro injury
