OT: Weekend Jukebox - whatcha got?

Mick and the boys - minus Mick the guitar player - played Croke Park last night. Play list was criticized for being bland. One of the most requested that didn't make the cut was this one (audio):

Better song, and just awesome Mick Taylor:

Actually just told Alexa to play this. GF is out of the country at a relative’s wedding. Too early in our relationship for her to spring me on the family.

I remembered a film that came out in around 1984 about the killing of a British policeman in Northern Ireland by the IRA. It was titiled Cal. Mark Knopfler created an instrumental soundtrack that was perfect for it. The two most memorable songs were Irish Boy and The Long Road Home. Not really jukebox material but great music by a great musician.

He also wrote Going Home, the theme from the early 80’s film Local Hero.

Are you PSU class of 83? If so, me too.

Smooth vocals from Richie Rosato.

I have always been a ballads guy and when I think of great ballad groups, I think of the Duprees and Skyliners. The Duprees have been fortunate that, while the members have changed, the sound is as sweet and mellow as when Joey Vann was on lead.

Easily my favorite Supertramp song:

Have to wonder if Roger Waters spent some time listening to Crime of the Century. Just sayin'...

Yes. Won the NC my senior year and made the Sugar Bowl to see it.
You ?

Did not make it to the game. Was dating someone who would become my wife and we spent the holidays at her home in Connecticut. We watched the game there at her home and I got her whole family into it. I can remember her grandmother sitting in the kitchen nervously watching the game on this tiny TV. She didn’t understand a thing about football but she knew it was really important to her granddaughter and me.
