PA Class AAA Finals Thread

I would never choose you to be my "pal" . I got higher standards. I've never said I was a historian of Penn State wrestling. You questioned me on my loyalties and claimed I was a Beca fan. You have no clue. I have always supported Nazareth and Northampton. I have dealt with the Nunamakers in buisness , and shared many a beer with some of Rohn's staff. You're just a know it all, that a majority of the posters get sick of. The only explanation I have is, you're either ignorant or stupid. Pick one!

I put you in your place and you responded like a 9 year old with a bunch of typed out insults on your lap top. Scoreboard.

They aren't insults if it's the truth.Go look up my typical post and look at what you do. You got the equivalent of little big man disease on this forum. You must be an Iowa troll because no Penn State fan could be so simple.

LMAO. You didn't post any "truth". You typed out a bunch of name calling crap, because you couldn't TAKE the truth.

I'm new to this social media. Is there really an ignore button, and if so where do I find it?
Click on the user's handle. When their profile page comes up, there should be 3 links for Report, Ignore, and Follow. They might be really small font, so you might have to look around a little, but they should be there.

That's 3 name calling attacks in a row. LMAO. You've been reduced to nothing. Hurts when you're called out and you have squat, don't it?
I'm just enjoying your lack of depth as a person. There's more to life than living on your little world.

Interesting side note to all this is that Penn State has no recruits from PA this year despite a really strong Sr. Class. A lot of high end recruits are leaving the state.

Lee (Iowa)
Labriola (Nebraska)
Coy (Virginia)
Verkleeren (Minnesota?)
Woodley (Oklahoma)
Murin (Iowa)
Courtney (Virginia)
Stefanik (Princeton)
Manley (Va Tech)
I posted this before but it is a follow up to what I would like to see in the Penn State roster. I wish Cael and Co. would land 1 or 2 top 5 PA kids a year and 1or 2 top 10 National kids a year.
With that breakdown it would allow the starting roster to be about half Pennsylvania kids. Iowa, Minnesota and Oklahoma State in their heydays always had a roster of some in-state kids. It's just is a characteristic that the fan base can rally around.

Classy interview by Desanto. He has my respect. Helluva run for him this year.

Just because you dont agree with Chief doesn't mean he is a bad poster. Come on now.
I see lots of Iowa fans giving lip service to DeSanto and his great match against Lee. Most of it is half-hearted and there is usually a catch with it....he knew Lee was injured when he announced he was going down in weight for a re-match, he wrestled a one-legged version of Lee , time had run out before the last takedown was called, the arena was not filled to capacity, etc, etc. ......so why bother? Desanto did what he had to do. No one forced Lee to wrestle with his injury. When he stepped on the mat, he was like any other wrestler at State's and his opponent deserved the same respect and enthusiasm for a win as he did if he had won.

But here's the thing that really sucks, who the hell are Iowa fans to be criticizing how Pennsylvania fans react to an exciting closely followed championship match between two great Pennsylvania HS kids in our State finals???? The only thing that comes to mind for me is that Iowa fans think they have final say so on what happens in the wrestling world and are entitled to chastise other fan bases for offending their sensibilities......well, screw that...

DeSanto has his followers, Exeter has its fans, D3 had a strong interest in a DeSanto win, Eastern PA vs. Western PA was a factor and the way the match ended caused fans to cheer for the outcome.......Iowa doesn't play into any of that.....Iowa's time of acting high and mighty and being the self appointed arbiters of what is acceptable are long over (if they ever existed in the first place). Don't come on here (or go back to whatever crazy ass delusional board you call home) and spew crap about things you know very little about.....

When I first started posting here on a regular basis everybody said what a great poster AZChief is. I haven't seen it. All I've seen is a guy who is passive aggressive, is triggered easily, and is no better than the other delusional shitposters over on HR.

To be honest, this board would be better if he left. He should stick to being passive aggressive on HR.
He is different here than on HR. Back handed compliments a plenty. Do not find him overly offensive but sure changes his tune depending on where he posts.

he doesn't say or do anything here some on here say there. subtle jabs and a few good uppercuts come to mind. either you caught it or you didn't. he rarely pushes an issue. bottom line he is just networking while trying to straddle the fence without getting a sore crotch. he's all right and something tells me something will come up job wise. his wrestling knowledge is vast worldwide.

sorry about my non-caps i was pulling a calf and momma stepped on my hand. i probably shouldn't of said that- no excuses, right?

This is a general post, not to one person. To me Chief is fine. Do I agree with him all the time? Not at all (and not on this). We all know we are homers and some things will look different to us. I sure don't always agree even with everyone here. I'm not expecting to.

I believe the difference in posting is that because this isn't his board, he is trying to be mindful of that and show tact, not because he is "two-faced". Same with Turk. They want to interact, be honest about their view, but not tick people off unnecessarily. I am ok with that. Actually I think it is the way it should be when you visit.

Personally, while I might not always agree with the view, I like to hear an "outsiders" view because I know I see through blue and white glasses. That is why I go to HR also. Sometimes I need a reality check and that helps with my expectations.

There are also many knowledgeable posters there and good people. For me I'm looking for information, enjoy the humor of so many in the wrestling community, and enjoy the banter back and forth (when it is not spewing negativity). Yes, I even can enjoy Jammenz and Tognetti (in small doses....;)), and the humor that presents itself when they post.

Over time I've looked at a lot of boards (and sports), but BWI and HR are the two main places I go to get info and enjoy the talk (you might say the only two I can regularly stomach). I just ignore what I don't like and that works for me.

He did not say he was coming down until 6 days after Spencer tore his ACL...There are a lot of kids in young guns....I take it you didn't listen to the radio after the match....But yes i give him credit cause i am not an Iowa fan....But if everyone is true to themselves we all know that Spencer on 2 good legs techs him and everyone else again....
@spyker This is flat out misinformation. You need to stop.

I sat next to him for a bit at the Cumberland Valley tournament in November. Said then he was going 126 postseason. Said "I don't care about state titles, I want National titles. " I posted this here shortly after. He also said the same thing to a reporter and it ended up in the paper.

He was cutting to get to 132 (per his Mom) so the timing of his drop is logical as the pull is not something you want to do all season.

Again, just stop. If that's possible.

I enjoy many boards. The old Mat was my favorite, but not as great today. Separated at birth may be one of the funniest threads ever on any board, and who wouldn't enjoy the old musings of kentucky mudflap. HR has several great posters and a few idiots that try and control things, and this board shares similar issues. Chief is a smart guy and shares his black and gold clouded visions as tactfully as he knows how. I enjoy them for the most part.

I miss Mudflap's posts. Insightful in a Pennsyltucky, drunk at 2am sort of way. I know that was his shtick, but he always had a kernel of truth in there somewhere.

he used truth sirum to git the truth out of thim guyz. he was always quick to point out that tommy is reel smart. he wasn't much of a kj fan. Dang I miss him. He once said M* was weaker than a popcorn fart, and keddy was stronger than a garlic milkshake. You can't find such quotable posters these days.

I am sure if I met him in person he would be a good dude.

Yeah sorry, that was an "automatic" hit reply (laziness) and I didn't think to just change it, but added the general comment when I noticed it might seem like a specific reply to you. Will try to be more careful so as not to confuse things. I was just tacking on some of what the whole thread had me thinking....but was in the middle of a bunch of other things too so didn't think enough.

I guess you can consider some of that negativity, but to me there is a difference between harsh personal attacks and using humor to try to offset some of the negativity and lighten things up. Kind of why I tend to stay away from social media in general. I'm not very good at understanding how others perceive things when I write.

ditto

Good to see the Pgh wrestling writers are every bit as homertastic as the Pitt football writers.
You beat me to it. They're laying it on pretty thick.

Man, you think Desanto didn't enjoy a little face mush payback after last year. He was smelling blood in the water

Getting surgery in April. Says it in the article.

Lots of excuses in that article - a little Western Pa homerism.

yeah, I'd say

from the article:
"DeSanto defeated Lee, 6-5, when he was awarded a takedown as time expired; videos and photos showed time had run out before DeSanto completed the takedown."
