Football Penn State Football rolls past Maryland en route to Big Ten Championship

We did our part. All we heard all week was how all we needed to do was handle business against Maryland. We did that. No way ND should jump us for a padded win against the 6-6 version of SC

Who said that we just needed to handle business? We all know what everyone else does impacts us

The only question about this is--if ND is ahead of us on Tuesday (they shouldn't be but might be) then that pushes us down a spot.
The NIU loss should keep them behind us when comparing and if I see the right SOS PSU is 33 and ND is 53. Just can’t see how they pass us. But who knows.

If this game goes as expected, this board will have set a Guinness World Record for most amount of crying and b!tching during games about an 11-1 team in the history of NCAA football.

Congrats, babies.
We do have a whiny group on this board. Many of them seem to disappear as soon as PSU takes control. It’s been a rough season for a lot of our “fans”.

It should but will it?
Personally, I think Penn State-Texas is a better debate than Penn State-Notre Dame but remember Ohio State losing hurts our resume. Basically everyone but Illinois lost this weekend that we wanted to win. Actually, Minnesota winning was good too but BGSU and WVU hurt our SOS. Ohio State losing definitely hurts the SOS with that being a home loss.
Again, I don't disagree with you--just think the committee flips us because if we beat Oregon it fixes itself. If we lose, they might have moved us behind them anyway.

I don't give a shit about ND and there fluke touchdown late. That was no more impressive that what we did against SC and we were playing a totally different team. They should NOT jump us for the 5 seed if we lose to Oregon.
Maybe the posts u have had above will sink in now. If we don’t get a blowout the chances of someone jumping us go waaaay up

I sort of feel like you leave ND alone this week unless you want some controversy before ccg week. It wouldn't be much, but it would be a talking point. Particularly the fact that it probably solves itself next week.

I think if Texas wins that's possible. If A&M wins we're definitely falling behind them IMO

Actually this is correct. You are a psycho who hates Penn State so we all know you will be rooting for A and M
Sigh--I'm one of the few people here that actually root for "what's best for Penn State" even if I dislike a team.
Like I root for WVU even though I know the suck

Good news for them … they’ll have a full week to tell us how we suck and how we’ll get smoked by Oregon. Then, regardless of the outcome there, they’ll have at least another week (maybe 2), to tell us how we’ll suck and we’re going to lose in the playoffs.

The committee has said teams will not be penalized for losing a CCG. If we win I guess we will be 1-2 seed. If we lose I’m guessing we will be 5-6 seed. The SEC CCG winner and loser will be 1-2 and 5-6. Then all others will fall in behind that. Just guessing based on what the committee has talked about. Could be 100% wrong but if they penalize a team for getting there and bump a team that doesn’t play in a CCG it will set a dangerous precedent.
Well if A&M wins tonight but loses to Georgia in the CCG, they won’t be 5-6. They quite likely won’t make the playoffs at all but if they do would be something like the 11 or 12 seed.

There is zero chance of ND passing us if A&M loses tonight. They would literally have no wins against ranked teams (unlike us) and a very bad loss. I’m skeptical they would be ranked above us even if A&M wins but they critically need that to happen.

Illinois going 9-3 looks pretty solid for and helps a ton with the “they didn’t beat anyone” crap.

I loved this statement! Way to go Coach Franklin! Initially I wasn't sure that was a good call at that point in the game but he is right. The 3's and 4's deserve to have the full playbook vs their starters.
Also we’ve seen how important it is to have your depth players get real in game experience. You never know when injuries will push players into bigger roles and they need to be prepared.

Franklin may not be able to beat Day but he did what Day could not: handle business against a team you should beat.

My point was more based on teams with similar records in CCG’s. There is going to be situations where an 9-3 teams make a CCG and loses. That doesn’t qualify them for that 5-6 spot. My post was geared towards Texas getting in there against UGA. Similar record teams would facilitate similar rankings based on CCG wins and loses (and the committee loves UGA).
