"Penn State is 'all the F in'." - Pat McAfee

Everything thing I saw is realistic, not negative, not positive. Realistic. I was equally critical of Joe. The second half of the Dark Years were largely preventable. he failed to reign in Tom Bradley's well documented tendencies putting us in position to allow officials to give Michigan a chance to derail a perfect season in 05. He did the same in 08 at Iowa giving officials a chance to call a ticky tack penalty handing a game to Iowa which did kill a title because we would have laid waste to Florida.
WallaceMart ... all absurdly negative trolls, such as yourself, try to portray themselves as "only being realistic". There's a reason you named yourself after an imaginary video game villain known as "the most hated man on earth." And there's a reason you've been spouting the same tired negativity and consistently being proven wrong ... only to then try to describe how reality isn't real, and even though you were wrong, if you ignore what actually happened, you weren't wrong at all.

Your shtick is tired. No one's buying it, so why are you trying to sell it? Go away.

"The schedule gets much tougher than what we have faced the last three years...the schedule is weak..."

Within the same paragraph, our schedule was classified as "much tougher" and "weak". The only thing consistent about Peggy Pigeon is that all of his takes are trash. Alas...
Every year at the start he says our schedule is tougher so we will lose more games than the previous year….then when we win more he says his prediction was still right because the schedule was weaker than he thought. Every team that doesn’t beat us like he hopes they do, he calls them weak. That way you never have to admit you are wrong. Two years ago he predicted 7-5….we went 10-2 and he wouldn’t even admit he was wrong then.

Except that inconvenient truth that I have never been proven wrong. Perhaps you should go away so us real fans can talk football.

4 years of "proven wrongs" all over this board. Probably more. We just don't know what other name you post under before (and likely currently).
Except that 4 years is 0 years. Focus on the minutia all you want but it is a simple fact that Franklin doesn't beat good teams and it is way more than Ohio State or top five teams, or top ten teams. SMU's win over Louisville is very likely the best win any team we have beaten has had since January 2018 and that isn't a good win by any definition. If it wasn't SMU, it was Utah's wins over USC in 22 and in hind sight, those wins weren't very good. Never mind that we were on the way to losing to Utah before Rising got hurt. Other than OSU in 2016, it doesn't get better prior to that win over Washington. Ignore reality all you want.

Will be interesting to see how Penn State fares under the big pressure of the expectations that Ohio state was under last year. Not easy.
I was thinking the same thing, especially considering the narrative regarding Franklin and the lack of even adequate wide receivers.

Although I give Franklin credit, with the DC hire he hasn’t been afraid to put even more pressure on himself.

McAfee has talked about that experience a lot. After the game he jumped in his car and aimlessly drove all night with thoughts of suicide. He received many death threats. It changed him and his priorities in life. Hence his show prioritizes positives and respectful criticisms. He only makes personal attacks on ESPN higher ups.

Ironically, the bigger problem in that game was Rich Rodriguez. The day before the game he was on the tarmac in Toledo negotiating is contract with Michigan. Intentional or not, Losing that game allowed him to bolt early. Fans claimed he could never be forgiven…
Apparently he has been forgiven.

I think the most pressure is coming from all of the returning players. Interesting, because Knowles' schemes are so unusual whether he will improve on Penn State's good defense from last year is an open question. When Knowles came to OSU, the defense was a dumpster fire and even an average coordinator could improve it, and as I pointed out above he lost the 2022 Michigan game with an ultra aggressive game plan. I am not denigrating his overall work which is very good. However in terms of playing top opponents, it is not all good in first year.

BRUMP!!!!!

see no reason to revise my prediction of 7 and 5 up at this point. We'll revisit after auburn.

You are rather pathetic. You could probably work on reading comprehension. What ever season that was from, we lost to every good team we played. That is the real prediction if you bothered to pay attention, but then again, you are terrified of reality and reality is, we are a second tier Big Ten program under Franklin.

You're a Lando-level troll ... and there's a VERY good reason for that similarity. Even the crazed Online Persona outed you for your mistakes, and lies ... and despite having the truth presented directly to you, verbatim ... you just sat there claiming what was a clear prediction wasn't a clear prediction and you have to look toward other things you said ... yet you never presented other things you said that would allegedly change the meaning of what was clearly said by you ... you just kept stating, over and over ... that what you had clearly and unequivocally written as a prediction wasn't what you had written, so you weren't wrong.

EXACTLY like Lando has done, repeatedly.

Seek help, crazy guy.

I like Pat. I didn't at first.....and unfairly so because I hadn't watched much of his work. After watching him a bit more, I slowly warmed to him. I like his enthusiasm and think he is funny. And as someone above posted, he's generally a very positive person.

Also, maybe part of this is because I have a soft spot for WV and WVU. I lived in western MD on the WV border for a few years. The people are genuine and down to earth and they love their Mountaineers. For many folks that live there this is their 'professional" team.

Nice! I always loved WV. Started as a child with family vacations to Harpers Ferry and after college at a conference in Shepherdstown. Many years later later I lived in far western MD in Oakland, Garret County for a few years, near Deep Creek Lake, and just across the border from WV. Built a lot of good friendships, and enjoyed meeting folks from WV as coworkers, fellow classmates, and customers. Good people with a great spirit! Not to mention the wonderful mountains, forests, hollers, and rivers. I really appreciated that place. Many fond memories of living on the Appalachian Plateau :)

Well for this past season I predicted we’d be the only top team in the country to beat every team we should and I was right. Now that was a real prediction.
