I’m hoping both get extra matches today to get the “4” under their belts. I’m not concerned with seeding but they both need 4 just in case either get Covid and have to sit out B1Gs.

To me this is why the “4” is so important.

I don't think those 2 would get at-larges though if they miss the B10 tourney.

Pardon my ignorance in advance on down bracket tourney seeding, so be kind.

Any logic in trying to get both Howard and Beau both dual and extra matches in today? The thought being, if they both get 2 more victories they might bump up a slot in seeding for the Big 10. Granted they would be going against non starters.

I haven't taken a look at what might be the seeding, but what are the chances Beau for instance pulls Sasso right out of the gate, of not early?

I don't think an extra match (especially against Maryland) will do anything for their seeding.

Right now I think Howard is pretty much locked at somewhere between 11-13 (14 if he loses to Maryland which I don't expect to happen). Not sure what's up with Indiana's Hudkins as he is 0-2 and missed a bunch of matches but he had some good wins last year (edit: they're supposed to wrestle Purdue today so I wonder if he will wrestle vs. Schroder, or if Schroder will wrestle for that matter). Assuming Howard beats Sandoval he should be seeded higher than him but if for some reason they don't wrestle I think he should still be as Sandoval is winless but I could see some votes for Sandoval since he wrestled 133 (albeit not that well) last year. Coin flip between who is seeded higher between Howard and Aguilar IMO since Aguilar hasn't looked good and is 0-4 but has only lost to good guys and was the 16 seed at NCAA's last year. I do wonder how much the coaches will weigh Howard's win vs Medley if Ragusin goes 125 for B10's. Of course only the 11 would put him opposite Lee. Cael could maybe argue to put him over Cardani but that's a longshot IMO.

I think Bartlett is pretty much locked at 13 as long as he wins against Maryland since he hasn't beaten any other starters. He might've had an argument for 12 until Omania beat Storr. Not sure who Maryland's 149 will be anyway, North wrestled their first 3 duals but hasn't wrestled since injury defaulting to Blockhus. I'm guessing Parriott jumps Storr so a 13 for Bartlett would likely match him up with Parriott first round IMO (assuming no covid dropouts from the B10 tourney).

edit: regularfan made a good callout in the other seed thread, I agree with him that Bartlett could likely be the 12 ahead of Scharenbrock from Wisconsin, which I think would likely have him wrestling Storr in the first round.

Hmmm...not seeing the extra bouts yet on the btn+ schedule. Probably pop up when they start the coverage.

So Kerk wrestles a match or 2 tonight. He then only needs to wrestle 2 at Big 10s.....assuming he isn't 100%...he can avoid any injury scenario. If he can be fully healed by Nationals....it could get interesting. I have absolutely no info to support this......just pondering on my drive home. It certainly would be cool though :)
Edit: I guess I should have read posts before I started sharing my wishlist. Thanking Santa in advance :)
