The Pirate is a sharp one -- you don't want to get into a bet on details with him.

The Nittany Lion Open is a non-team scored open tournament. As such, no team will will the Nittany Lion Open.
What I was saying Tom as I've been to the Nittany Lion Open is that each Penn State wrestler will take 1st at each weight class. I wanted to simplify the analysis.

I was just thinking about this, where is Minnesota going to end up in the B1G rankings this year?

Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan are locks to finish higher.

Nebraska, Northwestern probably

Illinois, Rutgers and Wisconsin are at least above or around the same level

Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State ,Purdue I don't see it.

So Minny will be fighting to stay out of 10th place this year with upside of around 5.

YIKES

To be sure PSU is the favorite going into the season. But stuff happens (injuries, eligibility issues, personal issues) so let's be enthusiastic but not too cocky until the season unfolds.

Luckily your nemesis Minny is not Thwron the schedule.

There are high school teams in Pennsylvania who would put up a bigger fight than the GOOFERS this year.

Becahi could challenge Minny this year at a few weights in AAA. Karam>Lizak, Labriola>minny 165. Maybe 2 other weights also go Golden Hawks.

Well, let's see. Last year I successfully predicted PSU to finish 5th/6th at the B1G and you edged Illinois by 1/2 point for 5th. So I'll say Minny will place 5th/6th at the B1G as their team is at least as good as your last year's team.

Conaway > Lizak
Gulibon > Brancale
Moss < Thorn
Beitz > Short
Frey < Kingsley
Hammond > Wright
Brown > Wanzek
McCutcheon > C. Pfarr
McIntosh > B. Pfarr
Lawson (Push) Kroells

So not really

Actually, what you predicted around this time last year was "If Retherford red shirts PSU will drop into the B1G's lower tier with Indiana, Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers, and Michigan State."

http://board.themat.com/index.php?/topic/7418-penn-states-14-15-lineup-times-they-are-a-changin/

Retherford did red shirt, and they finished 11.5 points behind your Golden Goofs at the B1Gs and 59 points ahead of the top-scoring lower-tier team.

Wait, you did link. Never mind.

So not really

Why no respect for Jimmy Lawson? He and Kroells wrestled twice last year. Lawson won both. Lawson finished ahead of him at B1Gs and at nationals. That ain't a push.

Hey now. I love me some Jimmy Lawson. I'm saying it's a push between Kroells, a returning AA at 8, this year, vs. Lawson an AA at 6 last year. Would not be surprised with Kroells at 6 at all.

That wasn't a prediction, but simply a playful retort to your flying tiger. My official Penn State prediction was made on this very board. Here I reference it: http://board.themat.com/index.php?/topic/9710-psu-lineup-2015/page-3?hl=predictions#entry159280

To funny. You link to a post you made in May of this year as proof of what your predictions were for 2 months before the date of the post. pjamas, you should quit while you are way behind before you get even further behind. ROTFLMAO.

Here's what Jams said over on The Mat:
Flying-Tiger, on 12 May 2015 - 1:30 PM, said:
Jammie, I seem to remember you predicting 1-2 AAs for Penn State and a finish outside the top 10. Meanwhile 4-5 finalist for Minnesota. How'd that work out for ya this past season, hahah!

Tigsy, you clearly know that I successfully predicted that Penn State would finish 4th/5th in the Big and in the NCAA's. As usual I was spot on. If your board would stop deleting my old posts I would be able to link to it. I'll suggest to Tom that he should sticky my future predictions.

Holy circular argument, Batman! Link or it didn't happen, indeed.

Also that this board deletes Jams' old posts. If he's consistent, then he also hates that his microwave stops cooking when the timer goes off.

His craft is trolling and getting you guys all riled up. This board gives him exactly what he is looking for
Pretty sad that a 67 year old man (he said he was born in 1948) wastes his time trolling message boards. That's something a 16 year old dipshit on 4chan hopped up on Mountain Dew and Funyuns does.

Tres pathetique!

Let's please revisit these predictions as the season unfolds. Shall we? :)

He tosses us batting practice "fastballs." We take turns hitting them over the fence. Seems like your classic win-win.
Didn't you mean... Onceafish... Out of the stadium. The exact post quote of Penn State predictions and then fibbing on the date was pure... OUT OF THE PARK.

Actually my craft is dispensing facts and figures which this partisan board ignores to disparage me. However, this should cheer them up. Here are teams top 10 finishes for the last 20 years. If you finished out of the top ten that year then you were assigned a value of 11. Penn State ends up a surprising tied for 4th/5th with nobody else close. I mean, who knew?

1)........... Iowa 20/20, mean 2.9, median 2.5, mode 1.
2)...... Okie St 19/20, mean 4, median 3.5, mode 3
3)......... Minny 18/20, mean 4.5, median 3, mode 2
4/5)........ PSU 13/20, mean 6.2, median 7.5, mode 11
4/5)....... IA St) 13/20, mean 6.6, median 6, mode 11

That is some excellent work outlining the top teams over the past 20 years. Can you also do that for 5, 10, 30, 40, 50 and in NCAA history? I'm actually being serious - I would enjoy seeing that with the statistics you reference above - although the mode is probably the least relevant to me.

I would suspect that looking at all of those sets in total, just giving you a general impression - Iowa & OK State will be 1/2 and then the next 3 will be the same also in some order. Just off the top of my head.

5 years...

1) PSU 5/5, mean 2.0
2) Iowa 5/5, mean 3.2
3/4) Ok St & Minn 5/5, mean 4.4
5) Ohio St 4/5, mean 6.8

10 years (used top 15 places)...

1) Iowa 10/10, mean 3.1
2) Ok St 9/10, mean 5.5
3/4) Minn & Cornell 10/10, mean 5.6
5) PSU 9/10, mean 5.8
#'s 2, 3, 4 & 5 nearly a wash, it's that close. Ohio State is #6.

Now we're talking wrestling stuff. Ohio St was also 6th in last 20 years at 13/20.
