20’minutes until AA go time. This place seems empty but I guess it usually is on day 1.

Day 1 best matches
Cassidy Vs Scottie Johnson
Stein Vs Wirnsberger
Wehler Vs Garcia

Little Kolb drew a hammer from Faith. I was just talking in the seats with a Faith parent, the boy (placed at Fargo) who beat little Kolb might not even start next year or ever again, when some of their Jr High wrestlers come up. This is wild

Cassidy must of wrestled a really weak schedule. Johnson was toying with him. Granahan pulls it out. Heckman had a tough one. The Harers and Milheim’s are on fire right now.

Bouzakis had all he could handle with little Wentzel. District 4 is representing. Wirnsberger beats Stein. Conner scored 25 points.

Grant MacKay had a tough one with a huge freshmen. Fuzzagatto. This Faith guy told me he was going to go to Faith too but couldn’t make the team. He is a mature looking kid

Yeah, that was a good matchup if looking only at Cassidy's W-L record.

Same for Wehler-Garcia. Wehler is the 4th best guy in that 5-man quarter of the bracket.
I agree Wehler could come back and get third. Bad draw for him

Not likely, and that has nothing to do with the uphill consi climb after losing Round 1. There are at least 4 clearly better wrestlers at the weight.

I don't know what tournaments Bedford attended, but the D5 and D6 schedule probably isn't very strong in most weights.

True, but even if it weren't:

When a SR returning state champ, D1 commit faces a FR regional 3rd, chances are we know how that's going to go.

Also: we can't really ask if Johnson can hang with Gibson, and then in the next breath say some rando freshman is gonna give him a great match. Those are incompatible ideas.

Cassidy will likely end up being pretty good. His brother wrestles for George Mason. But as you said, freshman at states going against a state champ.

Agreed, plus as you mentioned about D5 competition.

AA W-L records are such a sh**show across the state. So many guys who face 2 or fewer state qualifiers all year. Pam Anderson's boobs think those records are inflated.

Plus who knows who many of these guys get forfeits. In particular in the 107 amd 114 classes. Many teams just can't field an entire lineup.

Some years this could be a finals match. Saylor was S5 last year -- but he was stuck in the same regional as 2 returning state champs (Perry and Manville) ... so he got a pigtail and then Round 1 vs. the favorite.

I'm picking perry to win it all again. He's good under the lights. And Biff will have him ready

Rath is on fire. He wins his first HS state title. Where is Turi come from. Did he wrestle in pa last year. Not sure I ever heard that name. Nice win for him. Sement was a transfer from NJ last year

Turi belongs to the Mat Assassins club in Scranton. Beat Cassidy for 3rd at PJWs last year, at Bassett's weight.

They need to change injury time rules in HS. seen multiple kids use it as a bailout of bad positions with no repercussions.

Little Harer is looking great. Wentzel had his chances. Neither looked that impressive.

Bainey looked solid Vs the Saucon valley kid.

Heckman is looking good. D4 is rocking

Who is Cyrus Hurd. Someone said transferred in from New York. He just knocked off the older Bainey
