Pitt fans say the darndest things

Did they get those trophies from a local shop? Very official-looking.
I think they picked those trophies up at Mike Feinberg's giant close out sale. That's where all the locals used to get their tchotchke...

Boring day so I went back and snagged my first post ever on Rivals, ELDADDY started by trolling Pitt fans. Some of the things they bought from my "sources" have me laughing out loud right now. Read through the whole post, "The next Tebow or Big Ben". The lair is special, special place.

Pat coming up with excuses already? He doesn't have great players? Whose fault is that?

Here's a curious tidbit: "Standing at a podium in a large hotel ballroom, wearing dark-rimmed glasses that made him look like a professor addressing his students, Narduzzi said, “If we all had great players, what fun would it be to coach?

That is a straight up scary quote from a coach struggling to recruit

I guess all his diamonds are rougher than expected.

He will just throw the players under the bus when they leave like he does to all the coaches. Pat “it’s not my fault” Narduzzi is running quite a circus

Narduzzi admitting he can't recruit.

"We can't draft them, you know. It's a little easier, I think, in the NFL. It's not easier to win, but it's easier when you can say I want that guy, I want to pick that guy. I don't care if it's the first pick in the draft or the 24th pick, but you're recruiting him"

Nardouche throws shade on himself! If you ever wondered what became of professor Irwin Corey.....just listen to The Douche. He proclaims the ACC a superior conference and is 14-10 over three years....7-7 out of conference? The ACC Coastal is certainly no better than the Big Ten West. The cherry on the sundae is dissing his own roster and admitting that he can't recruit great players.

I haven’t read this whole thread, but it is entertaining with much trash talk. So I thought I’d chime in. Having some good friends who are PSU fans, I am familiar with both sides of the Pitt/PennSt banter. Here are some of my realistic facts about Pitt/Penn St. (Consider that some realism is in the mind of the beholder).

1) Both are great institutions of learning with different strengths. Any graduate of either can be super proud.
2) Penn St has a much bigger enrollment, and has many more alumni and more resources.
3) Penn St will always outdraw Pitt no matter the records. They have more fans, more interest, and a better locale to draw. Pittsburgh is a pro town with 2 teams of great interest and success and a focal point of most fans.
4) Penn St has a better football program (and has for awhile), will recruit better, and should win more games.
5) Pitt has had a better basketball program except for the last few years and has dominated the series. With the new coach, they most likely will again have more interest and draw more fans.
6) It is a rivalry despite any denials from Penn St fans. The message boards, interest in the game, and attendance for the games at both stadiums are proof.
7) Both places seem to run clean programs. No major recruiting violations recently despite there being accusations of ‘dirty recruiting’ during the golden years.
8) Both fanbases have their share of ‘hate’ for the other. It precipitates irrational and biased talk. It is typical of a rivalry.
9) The series is ending in 2019, so it is unlikely there will be a thread like this, a year old with over 2000 posts.

Have a great day fans. I’m looking forward to Sept. 8th.

I don't know about that. Probably about 50% of the threads on the Pitt board were about Penn State during the years of the Sandusky issues when Pitt wasn't playing Penn State. I think we'll continue to comment and take joy in the many struggles of your football program and entire athletic department. Seems only fair.

You're right Smails. But, if a Sandusky happened at Pitt, imagine this board!

I notice it is now radio silence on the Pitt board about Penn State. Probably wise.

If that situation happened at Pitt, no, you wouldn't see the Penn State board look like the Pitt board did because we wouldn't be relying on the misfortune of Pitt in order to improve our program. That was your one shot at relevance.

You have confused pity with hate. Look at this thread a little closer and you'll find that we are just having fun at the expense of Pitt. However, when you read a thread on the liar about PSU you'll actually find hate. The two aren't similar and there's no denying that.

If that is your opinion ok. My opinion when I read some threads on here is 'hate'. Yes, some are making fun, but I don't sense pity. When you pity, you usually have 'feeling' for them. Many of you, not all, have one feeling for Pitt, and that is hatred. The lair has some posters that hate PSU, too. I admit that. But, don't try to escape the hate some over here have for Pitt. It is shown in the 'tone' of the post. Listen, it is part of a rivalry (albeit temporary). No need for either fanbase to apologize for their feelings, only for immature nastiness.
