PSU - Maryland Dual Thread

So they wanted to get Kuhn certified ASAP but when they do they don't bother sending him out?

EDIT

And at this point, they are really still trying to figure out 197lbs?
You can certify and not be able to wrestle a day later if you weighed too much during the certification. There is a max you can drop per week (let alone a day) from a weight.

I am guessing this is what is going on with kuhn.

He certified at 125. I may be wrong but that means he could not have weighed in more than 125. Based on his weight cert he should be good to go. Don’t know about any other issues Byers mentioned

Nice match by Keener. Dominated.

This should be a good test for Nick Lee. Diehl is no slouch.

that is not how certification works

What’s not true?
that he had to wiegh in at 125 or less.
you have to be hydrated (checked by urine test), and then from your weight a calculation is done to determine your minimum weight.
short on details, but that is how you certify to a weight

Christ! Lee looking like he wants to develop his top game like Zain. If he ever does that then it’s all over for the rest of the wrestling world at his weight.

That would be true if he certified at a higher weight. If it showed 133 on his cert than you know he weighed anywhere from 125.1-133 and then ther s a descent plan. If he certified at 125 you can’t weigh more.

Action-filled first period lifts Lee to an 8-5 advantage with over 1:00 RT. Lee works Diehl in the second to take a 15-8 lead with RT secured. Lee continues pouring it on in the third, wrenching on an arm bar on top. After an escape, Lee goes back to work and takes the tired Diehl down and to his back. No near fall points but 3:35 RT and a 22-10 MD for Lee

PSU up, 10-3

LOL Zain is unreal. Any other wrestler would have been on his back against Bannister, he turned it into a pin. Unreal.

I stepped away for literally 15 seconds to blow my nose and missed the end of Zain's match. I was worried he got decked ;-)

Whatever the reasons for Kuhn not starting today, it would have been nice to see him wrestle at least one match before the gauntlet of Lizak, that Jersey guy, NaTo and S Lee.

I hope Cael sends Kuhn to opens the next 3 weekends. Would rather have him get 12-15 winnable matches to get in shape instead of four near-sure losses to top 8 guys. He's not getting a good seed at B1Gs either way.
