Football QB Beau Pribula expected to enter the Transfer Portal

At least stick through the SMU game. I believe you can put your name in and still stay with the team? But maybe Franklin has a policy about that.

Quit bitching about the rule. This is quitting on the team when we need him most. Period.

We know need to get Grunk ready to step into his role because of this bullshit. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
He's not quitting--he's moving on--something he should have done months ago
Thank him for him his time here and wish him the best like an adult

People bashed a certain OSU QB for doing that--though they probably wish Beau was actually that good of a guy

No maybe about it. Warren now must run his pre designed plays, and if not, we have to run them with Grunk, a kid who has not taken a single snap on the field.
We don't need to ever take Drew off the field. Warren can still run the Warren package if we want to use it
Beau not playing just means we won't disrupt thing finally
This only matters if Drew gets hurt
James should have probably lied to him and told him he was going to start next year if he wanted him to stay

So it is impossible to sign a deal with another school (before the deadline .. any time before the deadline .. even today) and make it effective after a bowl or playoff run ends? Oh come on, that is bloody ridiculous. Forcing a player to make this decision because you can't do that really is brain-dead. Thank you NCAA, for ****ing this up so bad it has led to stuff like this.

That's not the rule
He has options and picked this one
They can't start the portal in January--it doesn't align with the semester

Ya it’s messed up portal shouldn’t open until all teams are done playing to make it even

He has no choice if he want to transfer. Portal closes Dec 28 and doesn’t reopen until April. The system is a travesty
Yes, I'm learning as I go that the the NCAA is run by a bunch of mouth-breathers that make short term decisions without any consideration for how they are RUINING the sport. This is an outrage.

Too bad for Penn St, but I can't blame him. Everyone has to do what is in their best interest. Loyalty is a virtue that no longer applies to college football. It's full on mercenaries - started with the coaches and now applies to all. Then they will wonder where the fans went.

People are just angry because they made Beau out to be this amazing human being that stuck around when he could have left to go elsewhere so they hyped him up (including some saying he should play over Beau) only to watch him run to the portal when he wasn't promised he would start next year.

Stop trying to make these kids into people they aren't. He's doing nothing wrong other than he should have stayed like the backup in OSU but maybe he read the people here bashing them.

He will not be with the team for the CFP run.
He's got to do what's best for him I guess, but this is poor timing just from an optics standpoint.

This might be a benefit if Allar stays healthy. Coach K. won't feel a need to placate Beau any longer if that's what's been going on. Beau had a nice running play against Oregon and did a good job against Wisconsin in the second half, but most of the time I feel like the packages we used him in were well sniffed out by opponents and just kind of felt like we wasted a play.

On the other hand, the threat of Allar as a runner could be reduced since we don't want to have somebody potentially knock him out of a game.

Seems like Beau post makes it seem like Franklin may have pushed to have this decision before playoff start. It makes sense and knowing he had to decide by 12/28 it’s tough. Drew probably leaning to come back but Beau can’t wait around.
Also, he'd have to be aware of the Tommy Stephens situation. At least he's got his degree. I hope it works out for him. He should give Iowa a look - he'd likely be the starter there.

No, I don't see it that way (although I don't fully understand the rules). He could have waited, but how many opportunities would go by the wayside if if waits until the CFP is over for PSU? I hate to see him go, but don't think he has a choice. I don't think Franklin pushed him out. The rules disadvantage players on teams in the playoff. Not fair!

Franklin didn't push him out but he absolutely didn't tell him what he wanted to hear
See Devin Brown--Beau made his choice

Nobody is mad at Beau. The rules suck. Kid should be able to enjoy the playoff run and worry about that after the season

The rules don't suck--he's blaming the NCAA instead of owning his choice--see Devin Brown
He has 5 days after our season ends to leave--he decided to go now--choice not the rule
If you're mad at the NCAA you don't understand the rule

Maybe we'll have Ewers next year
If Allar weren’t coming back, I think that you would’ve seen some of these portal QBs visit PSU this weekend, because if he doesn’t come back, PSU absolutely needs to bring in an experienced qb or next season will be a total write off.

We'll find someone to compete with Grunk

The rules suck, you’re the only one that can’t see it.
We know the rules--we also saw Devin Brown stay for the playoff run. Beau had that option but he's protected himself. I respect that but instead of owning what is happening (a kid doing what is best for him) you're attacking the rules that we knew all along. Rules that didn't impact Devin Brown from staying
You can't change the time frame of them--see when semesters end and begin

Well.....see ya Beau.

Does that mean he has to give back his BMW?

I assume he is no longer allowed in Lasch....

This is just f-ugly all around.

One big YMCA rec league....

Allar must have decided that he’s coming back regardless of his CFP performance. My guess is that PSU was able to lock in a NIL contract will Allar hence the Beau announcement today.
That's what I thought but....

"The current NCAA post-season model creates a challenge for student athletes," Pribula wrote. "The overlapping CFB playoff & transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision."

Why are people pretending this is about Allar?
He wants to start--Allar coming back or not--that's not a guarantee and he left--best of luck to him. Hopefully he's another Levis
