Football QB Beau Pribula expected to enter the Transfer Portal

That troll has been hating Penn State from the day he came in here. He has made constant calls praising Ohio State and Michigan players for staying while encouraging everyone from our program to leave.

He'd be long gone from the board if he wasn't little Richies butt buddy.
LMAO--what? I would be praising Beau if he announced this and did what Brown did
You just bash everyone
Again, EVERYONE that isn't guaranteed playing time should leave--at EVERY school--if someone else is willing to provide it

Devin Brown could have left his team and he didn't. That's the difference between that program and ours. Their guys stay and ours leave.

I've been saying that for years and some of you continue to make excuses for Franklin.
lol okay moron.

Every single review I saw from insiders was that he was every single bit as fast as Pribula, and had nearly the same passing abilities as Allar.

But hell no he can't possibly be "ready". This was bullshit from a kid who has disappointed his teammates at the worst possible time, not to mention has caused a distraction just 5 days before the most important game in the programs history in the past 32 years.

F@&k you.
Where are you getting your insider info from? Your name says you don't pay for it here.

I highly doubt Grunk runs anything similar to the Beau package, ever. I don't believe he's remotely "a mobile QB". He might be mobile in a similar way that Allar has been this year, but Grunk isn't coming in and running 9 zone reads or QB Powers.

True freshman who didn't get a snap. I don't think Beau left because of Grunk.

I don't think Beau left because of Grunk. I'm merely saying he's been here 12 months now. He should be able to break a huddle and execute a play. He's gotten rave reviews about his arm. He lacks experience, but nobody has a 3rd string QB with great experience that is guaranteed to be solid.

Let's just be real--if you were Beau would you not want a guarantee you were starting next year? Not everyone is Cam Rising and can play for a decade.

He gets his info same place hando does. From his imaginary friends

Yes, I'm learning as I go that the the NCAA is run by a bunch of mouth-breathers that make short term decisions without any consideration for how they are RUINING the sport. This is an outrage.
Ya think? These dipshits think men should be able to play on women’s teams but Indian names should be banned. Just think about the mental capacity required to come up with that.

Selfish move. Team before self. You don’t leave 6 days before your team has a playoff game - doesn’t matter if your 2nd, 3rd, 4th string - support your team, do what you can to help them win.

If you’re that good someone will find you and you’ll have your opportunity after the season. But you don’t leave now.
End of story. Fact. Good riddance.

They've been in the same spot the entire time
Opting out is to prep for the draft--never once said or implied kids wouldn't transfer
Beau isn't a starter--he's irrelevant to our success in the playoff
This absolutely doesn't matter--best of luck to him
Irrelevant? What if Allar is injured and can't play. Grunk is not ready to seamlessly step in.

If you are Franklin you damn well need to ask this kid to stay. The fact that Devin Brown stayed while Pribula left, says good things for Day, and bad things for Franklin.

If Allar is injured we're not winning a title
Same is true for all other teams other than maybe Texas
Beau isn't a great QB--he's runner that played well against Wisconsin but I have no less confidence in Grunk who is more like Allar.
Next man up
I am thrilled though that we won't see a Beau package ever again

It says nothing about Franklin--other than maybe he should have lied to Beau

Devin Brown is on line one, and he's going to tell you that you don't have to go.

No way. Our back up qb now is #44. In fact, in recent games, he pretty much had usurped Pribula in running those packages. With that said, if Allar gets hurt or sick and can’t play, I think you know what the outcome will be.

To tell you the truth, with all of the injuries this season and now this garbage, I’ll almost be emotionally relieved when this season ends. This great sport just has become a total farce.
The Steelers play the Ravens on Saturday. It’s going to be epic.

Lmao every post you make gets more comical. After suckeyes lose to Tennessee they will be running Day out of town

One advantage: if he comes in defenses have no idea what to expect.

This is rough.

It's an unfortunate byproduct of the college football calendar, the transfer portal calendar and the college semester calendar.

They can't push the winter portal out further, or you'll have guys missing the start of semesters. You can't wait to enter the portal if your current college is in the playoffs because you can get frozen out of opportunities.

It sucks for Penn State, not just for this year, but for next ... I would have liked to have seen what Beau could do at the helm full-time next year, if Allar makes the leap to the pros. I think he showed enough in his extended relief duty earlier this year to let us know he might be able to bring a dynamic dual threat option to this offense, which could open up a lot of possibilities for others, and especially would be helpful in those situations where the "traditional" aspects of the offense weren't clicking at that point of the game.

If Allar is coming back, it's obviously a more palatable situation for PSU. A lot depends on who else leaves, and who stays, but the offense could be great next year.

I selfishly want Beau to stay, but I can't in good conscience hold it against him for leaving. If he believes Allar's returning and Grunk is the heir apparent, he has to bet on himself and seek an opportunity elsewhere - he's capable. He already graduated.

I always admired the young man….. until now. Horrendous to desert his teammates as they enter the first ever playoff run. Hideous.

Screw him. 🤬 From now on he is just

Don't be a weenie (for once). It's a product of the system. If he believes Allar is staying, and he wants an opportunity to start in his 4th year, after graduating from the school he attends, he has to enter now to give himself the best chance of finding a good landing spot. Otherwise, he'll be picking from the leftovers, likely in a non-optimal situation.

It's the reality presented to players due to the semester, transfer portal and playoff calendars.

Again, it may have nothing to do with whether he'll be the starter next year - what if he has been offered a lot of $$$ by several schools and PSU has been unwilling to guarantee a match. He said in his X post that he apparently has sufficient credits and will graduate from PSU - and that he is extremely proud to call himself a PSU Graduate.

I can see both sides here. But count me in the camp of losing a lot of respect for him. He could have waited, bottom line, period. I don’t want to hear about the musical chairs. We all know he could have lined something up off the record. He isn’t getting the $4-5 million Ewers was allegedly offered. If he bleeds blue and white as much as he said, he owes it to the school who gave him a free education, a Lexus or BMW plus who knows how much else and he owes it to his teammates. He needs to be real with himself also. This is a selfish move. He doesn’t have Will Levi’s” skills. He isn’t likely to be drafted let alone be a first round pick. So given that I say this is just an extremely selfish college money grab and/or ego thing to be the man somewhere else. I wish him no luck wherever he ends up which is a different opinion I had for Levis.

That said, the system is definitely broken. Can you imagine a NFL player declaring free agency before the playoffs and leaving his team? It’s insane.

Things can change quickly with the portal.

Also, Reynolds and Dinkins could be a good combo at TE.

Rapleya?
I disagree that our Wide Receiver room is as bad as people make it out to be. In fact, it's pretty normal from a statistical standpoint, with only Oregon, Indiana, and Ohio State being programs where there are 3+ guys with huge numbers. And we run the ball significantly more/better than 2 of those teams. Oregon's #s are just freakish, but we hung around!

Any chance they could make a rule where an athlete could declare to transfer and even pick a school (although visits might be hard to schedule) and still play with current school until their season is done?

If they need to be enrolled by January, I don't see any other way to allow the athlete to transfer and protect their current team.

Man, leaving immediately? Not even going to stick through the playoffs? Awful
Not awful, actually.

The portal window is Dec 9-28.
Only 1 more game before it closes till April.
It's obvious the portal window needs to be adjusted to account for playoffs.

The only question is, why. I'm all for kids coming back, but it doesn't seem to make much sense for Allar based on the receiver room. Let's hope Grunk isn't the defacto #1 going into Spring ball.

What if Beau was going to...Clemson or Boise or even SMU? How would that work?
Ultimately Beau could have done what Devin Brown did. The timing screams this was an emotional reaction. Best of luck to him.

Huh? What? If you read his post, you'd realize he is going to receive his degree from PSU after this semester apparently. That means he has to enroll in Grad School for his next semester - perhaps he's been offered NIL deals that PSU is unwilling to match - this would mean he has no choice but to make a decision right now. If he's going to play for PSU, he'd have to enroll at PSU.... which might force teams currently offering him to go to their 2nd choice......
