With only Luke Lilledahl and Braeden Davis ranked outside of Intermat's Top 5 in late January there are dwindling opportunities to change that prior to the conference tournament and achieve the unheard of and elusive 10 wrestlers ranked in the top 5 (10X5).

125 #6 Lilledahl will need some help. He does not wrestle anyone currently ranked above him for the rest of the regular season. The best chances for those ranked above him to lose are probably against their highest ranked remaining opponent (date of match):

#1 Ethan Ramos - #8 Cooper Flynn (Feb 9)
#2 Richie Figueroa - #9 Stevo Poulin (Feb 2)
#3 Vince Robinson - #5 Eddie Ventresca (Feb 21)
#4 Troy Spratley - #15 Kysen Terukina (Jan 26)
#5 Eddie Ventresca - #3 Vince Robinson (Feb 21)

Ventresca vs Robinson represents a chance to make top 5 without doing anything else, one will lose. But there is also a chance that they just swap spots if that happens. The better chances may come from one of the other three losing to a wrestler ranked below Lilledahl. Spratley had a real bad week last week, but held on to top 4. So maybe it is time to become Terukina fans.

133 #7 Davis, unlike Lilledahl, has his fate in his own hands when he wrestles #3 Drake Ayala on Jan 31 and #4 Lucas Byrd on Feb 16. But even if those go poorly there is a chance he moves up a spot anyway if rumors that #1 Ryan Crookham is done for the season prove true.

Absent that, #2 Zeth Romney's toughest remaining test will be against #8 Nasir Bailey (Feb 14), and since Bailey already lost to Davis a Bailey win will not cause him to leapfrog Davis. As for #6 Evan Frost his toughest remaining match appears to be #19 Cael Hughes on Jan 26.
