Feels like forever ago that top 10 projected draft pick Olu Fashanu came back instead of leaving early.
Just imagine if these guys ALSO come back:I hear that!! I miss those days. Feels like forever ago that top 10 projected draft pick Olu Fashanu came back instead of leaving early.
Ahhhh the good ol’ days
Then you have no idea what average is.Franklin encourages them to graduate in three years and head to the NFL. He might be his own worst enemy. Part of me wonders if that is why his classes are consistently pretty strong but his on field product is average.
PSU is far above average. Top 3 in the B1G. How do most football players manage to graduate in 3 years given all of the time that D1 football takes?Franklin encourages them to graduate in three years and head to the NFL. I honestly don't think Franklin encourages everyone to leave...but right now, as far as these past 3 or 4 years are concerned, kids in our program are getting bad advice and this is straight up proven in fact.Franklin encourages them to graduate in three years and head to the NFL. Bosco you make a good point. I am sure it has something to do with their overall play. My question, how are these guys graduating in 3 years? Then you have no idea what average is.
Enrolling early, summer classes, plus a regular class schedule the rest of the year could get you there. I'll let someone else do the math. I graduated in 1970 and have no idea what a normal class schedule looks like these days.Bosco you make a good point. I am sure it has something to do with their overall play. 3 of those 9 leave IMOJust imagine if these guys ALSO come back:
Juice
Effner
Wallace
Strange
P.J.
Ellis
Jacobs
Dixon
Ellies
Probably Juice, PJ and Strange3 of those 9 leave IMO
Yeah I agree but I'm hoping for a miracle that they all make a pact and stay.3 of those 9 leave IMO
I graduated in four years and never took an overloaded schedule and only took two summer courses the summer before my senior year. If I would have added just one more class each semester and took more summer courses, I could have graduated in three years easily. I just wasn’t in a hurry to get out.Bosco you make a good point. Me neither. I used my redshirt year to get to Fall '70 to get in an extra football season in and to put off going to basic training. Nothing waiting for me after graduation except going into the Army Reserves.I graduated in four years and never took an overloaded schedule and only took two summer courses the summer before my senior year. Unless you know exactly what advice is being given to whom, you don't have the facts to prove anything.I honestly don't think Franklin encourages everyone to leave...but right now, as far as these past 3 or 4 years are concerned, kids in our program are getting bad advice and this is straight up proven in fact.
Ellis Brooks left early, wasn't drafted, and didn't make the NFL. Facts.Unless you know exactly what advice is being given to whom, you don't have the facts to prove anything.
Ellis Brooks left early, wasn't drafted, and didn't make the NFL. Facts.
Whatever. If this program ever wants to turn the corner it has to start getting guys to return. Olu was a nice surprise but once again the bottom has fallen off and they are all leaving.Brooks actually left on time. He didn't use a covid year, which is an abnormality. I don't think he qualifies the same as a guy finishing his 3rd year testing the waters.

Is that why Harrison of Ohio State came back TWICE?It's not whatever. Juice returning would be great, but then in '24 you will be griping that we don't have an experienced C returning or that we haven't tried to get one in the portal.
Olu is the exception, not the rule. The programs around the corner reload every year regardless of who goes pro.
Is that why Harrison of Ohio State came back TWICE?
The teams that are about championships, act like it.
Yes because Georgia, OSU, Bama, etc never have players leaving early. Is that why Harrison of Ohio State came back TWICE?

I knew a few kids that took 5 years to graduate and they didn't have a D1 sport commitment.PSU is far above average. Top 3 in the B1G. How do most football players manage to graduate in 3 years given all of the time that D1 football takes?
So it is not about what is best for the players and your only concern is what is best for you which is a winning team? Forget success with honor, just win baby?Whatever. If this program ever wants to turn the corner it has to start getting guys to return. Olu was a nice surprise but once again the bottom has fallen off and they are all leaving.
Remember when a 60% completion rate was amazing? Remember when you walked up hill both ways to school in the snow?

Tv got involved and money sky rocketed . This is where we’re at now.
Wait until the government starts paying off college debt. Everybody will take 5 years, or maybe even 6, to graduate!I knew a few kids that took 5 years to graduate and they didn't have a D1 sport commitment.
