I went up to run the Thanksgiving 8k named in his honor a few years ago. When I told my dad I went he mentioned that Ashenfelter was his alumni representative when he was an incoming freshman from New Jersey.

RIP, Mr Ashenfelter. Only time I met him was 1993 at Harry Groves 25th(?) anniversary of coaching at PSU.
