Chris I’m as baffled and disappointed as the next guy… but to play devils advocate here, shouldn’t anyone with a PSU degree be happy to hear that an academic department was selective in which credits they’re accepting? Thanks for the reply. That is really effed up. Would love to hear legitimate reasons from the academic department to justify credits not transferring. Crazy. Wick seems to be the front runner at 165 at this point.
I would imagine that Wisconsin is a credible institution and if he was in good standing academically, it’s very confusing as to why the Penn State academic department would decline him.Chris I’m as baffled and disappointed as the next guy… but to play devils advocate here, shouldn’t anyone with a PSU degree be happy to hear that an academic department was selective in which credits they’re accepting?
We don't go to college to play school.....Chris I’m as baffled and disappointed as the next guy… but to play devils advocate here, shouldn’t anyone with a PSU degree be happy to hear that an academic department was selective in which credits they’re accepting?
Exactly what I was going to type, it isn’t like he was asking for transfer credits from Podunck Community College of Basketweaving.I would imagine that Wisconsin is a credible institution and if he was in good standing academically, it’s very confusing as to why the Penn State academic department would decline him.
Exactly, give me a break with the academic institution and "degree" value talk, we got a special teams specialist (AJ Lytton) in from Florida State after he took 2 random classes at a local community college in Maryland. Football players who meet the minimum standards will get in. Students who can contribute to the university in athletics aren't held to the same standards as the average joe and they shouldn't be since they bring other value to the university.I would imagine that Wisconsin is a credible institution and if he was in good standing academically, it’s very confusing as to why the Penn State academic department would decline him.
Not much to explain, whoever the professor is in charge of that department didn't feel Evan's classes at Wisconsin were compatible to what his classes were at Penn State. Maybe it was the prerequisites to the upper level classes, bottom line the professor didn't feel Evan should get a degree in his major for one year of study based on what he did for 4 years at Wisconsin. Thanks for the reply. That is really effed up. Would love to hear legitimate reasons from the academic department to justify credits not transferring. Crazy. Wick seems to be the front runner at 165 at this point.
I'm not saying the professor should have accepted Evan no question. The professor should have pride in his department like Cael does for his wrestling team. Senior transfers are also uncommon. But clearly there could have been a compromise made of some kind to get Evan in and clearly the kid isn't an academic risk. Was going to on about anal, egotistical, self absorbed college professors but Mcsoreley sort said it.
Yeah…they have pride until it comes to the football team, then they take a back seat and keep their mouths shut.I'm not saying the professor should have accepted Evan no question. Is this the first time one of our wrestlers has trolled a poster? Fan-f’ing-tastic
Exactly. This is why God invented the 496/497 Independent Studies classes. Use one (or two) of them to demonstrate applicability of education gained at Wisconsin.I'm not saying the professor should have accepted Evan no question. If it has happened in the past, my money would be on Cenzo being the one who did it. LolIs this the first time one of our wrestlers has trolled a poster? Fan-f’ing-tastic
He really could have had fun with the rumor that he had ballooned up over 200 lbs. that one summer. Selfies downing hoagies, milkshakes, donuts, you name it. Sitting in front of a ginormous bowl of pasta w/ sauce smeared all over his face, wearing the stereotypical wifebeater, lol.If it has happened in the past, my money would be on Cenzo being the one who did it. Could've photoshopped his face onto Cassar's body ...He really could have had fun with the rumor that he had ballooned up over 200 lbs. that one summer. Or Chris Farleys. Preferably from the Chippendales skit…. LolCould've photoshopped his face onto Cassar's body ...
Seriously lol if you have singled just one and not all of them your seriously are misinformed lmfaoSomeone's credibility is now comparable to MSNBC. Oops sorry, not quite that bad
We have talked about this in the past with regard to Stanford trying to eliminate wrestling. Some academics just don’t like collegiate sports. It isn‘t a stretch to think that some professor wasn’t interested in trying to make it work, or maybe even wanted to stick it to the wrestling program for trying to bring in Wick, who would be pursuing a degree using a non-traditional path.Exactly. This is why God invented the 496/497 Independent Studies classes. Use one (or two) of them to demonstrate applicability of education gained at Wisconsin.
Regular basket weaving, I agree…but under water basket weaving is a whole different matter! 🤔🤔Exactly what I was going to type, it isn’t like he was asking for transfer credits from Podunck Community College of Basketweaving.

He'll (Seth) be ready for Florida
Does he need to be ready?
Can you say if Kerk is done for the season?
This exchange followed by Dgswi's rebuttal tells me all I need to know. Not done for the season at this point.
Also, Kerk has posted videos this week of him looking great. This exchange followed by Dgswi's rebuttal tells me all I need to know.
I don’t know his major, but some programs have outcomes in courses aligned with certifications from outside organizations. These outcomes must be assessed. Wick was accepted to the University, but whatever his major was didn’t match up well. That happens. If he wanted to go an extra year or so, he could have done so. Transferring credits is not an easy thing. I am sure the department evaluated his courses, looked at the syllabi and outcomes and they just didn’t work. The University is an academic institution before an athletic one, and I would rather they err in the side of academic integrity over athletic achievements.
edit: his major was rehabilitation psychology, which PSU doesn’t have. The closest is probably biobehavioral health. Anyone that upset can compare his course list from https://rpse.education.wisc.edu/current-students/forms/ to PSU programs.
Penn State does not like tough discipline.Evan Wick's major at Cal Poly is Interdisciplinary Studies. …

Almost as challenging as my Female Anatomy by Braille course of study...Regular basket weaving, I agree…but under water basket weaving is a whole different matter! 🤔🤔
I went to the wrong school...Almost as challenging as my Female Anatomy by Braille course of study...
Maybe -- not if it's offered at Tognetti U.I went to the wrong school...
It astounds me how people reach the conclusions they reach.Evan's mom basically said that's what happened in this tweet after CKLV
I imagine Cael remains very pissed at the situation. Evan literally would be the difference right now between us being behind vs ahead of Iowa seeing how he is #1 at 165. For a guy as competitive as Cael, I don't imagine he'll get over that unless we win the team race without Evan this year and if we don't, it'll be on his mind for a while. The main reason is once again, how a more selective school than Penn State (that's not in conference) managed to get him in and Penn State didn't.
If I say to a sneezing atheist, “God bless you”, and he replies “Thank you”, that means he accepts my God as his creator and savior!! For sure!It astounds me how people reach the conclusions they reach.
All that remains is who pays who?Penn State does not like tough discipline.
Whom. Easy to remember with this limerick:All that remains is who pays who?
So Evan's mom responded with a laughing emoji and said would have been nice rather than ignoring it to feed into a conspiracy theory to make PSU fans feel better? She also tweeted the night before that a school was having credit transfer issues. For the record, I have sources beyond that tweet also but it's not some well kept secret anymore. The fact some people still believe that Evan used PSU as a placeholder for Cal Poly to make it work in the 11th hour credit wise is hilarious. It astounds me how people reach the conclusions they reach.
It's all fun and games until someone is from Nantucket. There once was a girl from Belize...
....
Oh hell. Let's not start this
Evan Wick's major at Cal Poly is Interdisciplinary Studies. If you think Penn State has more "academic integrity" than Cal Poly, you are full of sh#$. Cal Poly made it work while the Penn State bureaucracy had their heads in their asses.
Or make like a Brands that owes you a home match and forget about itI’ll offer an opinion on the Wick thing:
Some folks need to make like a Brands and move forward.
