You know from experience? If this happened in PA, he'd get into a diversionary program for first time offenders that ultimately gets expunged from his record as long as he stays out of trouble. I'm sure Ohio has a similar type program.

It will probably be pled down to lewd conduct. Future job offerings and endorsent deals will be limited. I just want him to be treated like anyone else. If some defense lawyer gets it expunged to me that would be bs. He got caught with his pants down for blank sakes. He knew what time it was.I hope that tikk10 chimes in here and corrects me if I am wrong, but at this point, Snyder has only been arrested and possibly charged with soliciting or whatever they want to call it. You can be sure that Snyder will get good legal representation, so where this actually goes in court could be entirely different. To the best of my knowledge, he's never been charged with anything prior to this episode and he IS an Olympic gold medalist. I'm betting that a good defense lawyer can work out a deal with the DA where they plead guilty to something that won't ruin his future opportunities. Yes - he will still have some reputation issues to repair, but there won't be a legal ruling that will interfere with his
I would bet having to face Cael and the rest of the staff is going to be extremely difficult. He's accountable to his family. He tried to pay for sex. Big woop. That's happened since the dawn of time. It doesn't affect me. He's paying a heavy price. He owes no one here an apology, and he sure as hell doesn't have to make any apology public.
I can’t speak for everyone else but I would rather have to face CCC&N along with a very POd CStar than have to face my wife about it. 😖I would bet having to face Cael and the rest of the staff is going to be extremely difficult.

The defense claims it was the long bus ride to Columbus, a touch of the flu and some average cops at the crime scene that led to his arrest.Reported to be pleading down to 4th degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

This is end thread material.....nailed it!I don't have any issue with his tweet. He said he was focusing on his family and faith - that IS where he needs to be accountable. Maybe to his employer as well, but that's probably secondary to him at this point.
I also don't have any issue with fans busting on him for the act and for getting caught. He's a public figure, and that comes with the territory. And for some who truly feel the moral outrage, have at it; he deserves it. I don't feel the moral outrage over this, as compared with some other public situations that wrestlers have found themselves in the recent past, like sexual assault allegations, battery, etc, but I get that some do. I'll be happy to throw in with some future Kyle Snyder wisecracks, though. He deserves that too.
But owing an apology to anyone except the people he referred to in the tweet. Nah. I think you're barking up the wrong tree.
Cael will tell the company’s to pound sandI think we will know in a month how this plays out among the higher ups of the NLWC.
I think we all agree that Cael and Co. speak of the teachings of the Book. Forgiveness is part of that.
Unless sponsors and money to the club will be impacted, Cael has a tough decision. Maybe the Club has guidelines and rules that will automatically go in place on his work status ???
Exactly!I can’t speak for everyone else but I would rather have to face CCC&N along with a very POd CStar than have to face my wife about it. 😖
Fair enough. But still. I'd think an apology wouldn't be this hard.
I mean. yeah. Not that i think he should burn at the stake or kicked out of the sport. But dude did commit a crime. A little accountability ain't too much to ask. As a fan, we're a large part of why he's able to play a sport for a living. No different than how'd I feel about any other athlete.
So, as a former hawk wrestler talking accountability, are you calling for a temporary permanent suspension or do you want him hit with the ultimate punishment of making him sit for the Purdue dualFair enough. But still. I'd think an apology wouldn't be this hard.

I'm not an Ohio lawyer but I think it's safe to say that he'll be charged with violating Ohio Revised Code 2907.23, Enticement or solicitation to patronize a prostitute, which is a third-degree misdemeanor, carrying a max $1,000 fine and six-month sentence. As a first-time offender (assumedly), it's unlikely he'll serve any time. Under Ohio law, this charge isn't one that necessitates sex offender registration (source here). Expungement is a likely outcome, but my general understanding is that it'll take probably 3-5 years before his attorney can make that request.I hope that tikk10 chimes in here and corrects me if I am wrong, but at this point, Snyder has only been arrested and possibly charged with soliciting or whatever they want to call it. "I won’t be replying anymore to this thread" is a boss move from the dogwelder. It’s a big world. Almost anything anybody does will not make a big dent. If I steal something from Costco, it won’t make a big dent either. If one highway patrolman gives out one speeding ticket. It also won’t make a big dent. And yet speeding tickets in the aggregate do make a big dent in the amount of speeding.
The “it won’t make a big dent” argument applied to any single act is inane.
I won’t be replying anymore to this thread. I only made a post to make fun of grandiose opinions, literally false, stated categorically: “… will do nothing …” 🙄
Because now the wife will charge $160 for every bedroom act? 🤪 (Too soon?)I can’t speak for everyone else but I would rather have to face CCC&N along with a very POd CStar than have to face my wife about it. 😖
He plead to a 4th degree misdemeanor, disorderly conduct chargesI'm not an Ohio lawyer but I think it's safe to say that he'll be charged with violating Ohio Revised Code 2907.23, Enticement or solicitation to patronize a prostitute, which is a third-degree misdemeanor, carrying a max $1,000 fine and six-month sentence. Since it's only a first-degree misdemeanor, I'm not sure what he could realistically plead down to. The only neighboring charges with lower-degree misdemeanor possibilities (e.g., public indecency) don't really fit the facts, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a nonstarter. In all likelihood he'll probably plead guilty and get on the road to expungement by keeping his nose clean. I also think this is an instance where his notoriety probably hurts him--the state got more attention (in this case lots) than they usually get (practically none) for their solicitation sting operation, and it would look bad if they let the biggest fish they caught off easier than the others.
Unless Snyder plans to argue entrapment (I dismissed the idea as unlikely upthread, but I'm assuming "normal" facts given the routine nature of multiple-defendant sting operations), he'd best serve his interests by acting contrite, respectful, and hope the court sees him that way. Given his character in interviews and soft-spokeness, my guess is that's what he'll do. If he pleads not-guilty, he still risks being found guilty while simultaneously prolonging the case and adding news cycles.
Did you mean that he will or that he did? And if the former, why do you think that?He plead to a 4th degree misdemeanor, disorderly conduct charges
I must clarify...I know from my experience in the capacity as a former prosecutor and as a criminal defense attorney. You know from experience?
I think based on the article that 98lber shared above:Did you mean that he will or that he did? And if the former, why do you think that?
I think it's only fair that his birthday is a freebee. Also....I'll ask what most are thinking............how do you know the rate for a professional knob polish?Because now the wife will charge $160 for every bedroom act? 🤪 (Too soon?)
