About a half a second moreWhat’s the definition of reaction time?
That's graduate level stuff, and Ryder is only a true freshman. That training comes later in Ryder's PSU career, and directly from Casey Cunningham.Ryder not remembering that MD coach admonished that you don't have to go for the pin.
I'm in the camp that Ryder's best weight is 174, though there will be one season (2025-26) of overlap with Haines. But if 184 is open next season, Ryder will likely be the guy.Gonna be interesting to see where Ryder fits in. I'll say this, he's perfect for freestyle and could one day be a star for the NLWC. Kid has the chops to win senior level medals...
That extra bonus point got them the tie with OK for second. Team point deduction was a factor...Nice MD by Cole.
Time for a coaching change. That extra bonus point got them the tie with OK for second. Team point deduction was a factor...
Does it matter? Why even go there?@GogglesPaizano Does this change your mind about Cole at all? Serious question
The commentators said Cole needed a pin to tie I thought? That extra bonus point got them the tie with OK for second. Team point deduction was a factor...
Of course it matters. That’s why we are here. To discuss wrestling and this team. I don’t agree with his position but I’m interested if he feels differently after seeing Cole’s performanceDoes it matter? Why even go there?
So easy to take for granted but as fans of PSU right now we can't be careless and forget how blessed we are. We are witnessing something special. Hell, I Think two of our '25 h.s. recruits would have won this tourney if they'd have entered. Lol9 wrestlers sent, 3 champs 1 second and 1 5th. Not bad for our backups. Also some how the good guys tie for second vs teams that sent their starters and many many more wrestlers.
Wonder if there's a tie breaker. Most champs?? LolFinal Team Scores (top 10):
Army 132.5
PSU 126.5
OKLA 126.5
UNC 91
NDSU 90.5
CAMP 86.5
CIT 80
UNC 73.5
UVA 71.5
VT 70.5
Turk has been permanently affected by PSU. Seriously, that guy's entire life has been altered and he still can't figure it out.I just read over on Turks board that only PSU "high" recruits were doing well at the Scuffle.
Pierce listed as being a Kaleb Young - Murin level recruit for us. Despite not being ranked in the top 250 (Murin in the 30s, Young in the 20s).
Alternative reality...
About 10 years ago when PSU went to the scuffle, I recall teams from Missouri, Cornell, OKY St, and Minny being there.9 wrestlers sent, 3 champs 1 second and 1 5th. Not bad for our backups. Also some how the good guys tie for second vs teams that sent their starters and many many more wrestlers.
That extra bonus point got them the tie with OK for second. Team point deduction was a factor...
Willie: "What is going on at Virginia Tech?"Wonder if there's a tie breaker. Most champs?? Lol
Blaze, Duke, Cunningham and Henckel would have won this.So easy to take for granted but as fans of PSU right now we can't be careless and forget how blessed we are. Totally agree. Tremendous service to the wrestling community at Penn State. Thank youSlippery Pete, goes without saying but you are the man around here. Thanks!
I was thinking the same. Oklahoma sent multiples at each weight. Do all of those guys score team points or just the highest placer or is there a designated ‘starter’ at each weight? If we sent our full contingent of backups, we could have used Nagao, Cochran, Sealey, Facundo lol.
This is literally 50% of PSU backups
I'm almost positive you only get points from the top scorer at each weight.I was thinking the same. Oklahoma sent multiples at each weight. Do all of those guys score team points Zoe just the highest placer or is there a designated ‘starter’ at each weight?
Facundo participating at 57 would have won it for us. Great to see these guys compete. Dunbar, McHenry, Steen, Kelly, & Levine - really enjoyed rooting for them and are really good wrestlers in their own right. Ryder, Mirasola and LiTTle Mirasola - future looks bright!
FULL COURT PRESS ON MASOUMI !!!!True Frosh Mirasola only beat the 23th ranked wrestler 9-0.
We're doomed with undersized HWT.
If that’s the case there’s an advantage to entering multiple guys at a weight. Since our guys were not starters most weren’t seeded, so luck of the draw for path to medal rounds. Just putting in perspective what these guys accomplished by finishing tied for 2nd.I'm almost positive you only get points from the top scorer at each weight.

And then some!Slippery Pete, goes without saying but you are the man around here. Thanks!
Dude left OK State.I wonder if jordan Williams can get down to 141?
The benefit of a Millburn NJ HS education. Not so smart as they think they are, but they did know the definition of reaction time was quite "tautological" (if I heard correctly).
