Gonna be interesting to see where Ryder fits in. I'll say this, he's perfect for freestyle and could one day be a star for the NLWC. Kid has the chops to win senior level medals...
I'm in the camp that Ryder's best weight is 174, though there will be one season (2025-26) of overlap with Haines. But if 184 is open next season, Ryder will likely be the guy.

9 wrestlers sent, 3 champs 1 second and 1 5th. Not bad for our backups. Also some how the good guys tie for second vs teams that sent their starters and many many more wrestlers.
So easy to take for granted but as fans of PSU right now we can't be careless and forget how blessed we are. We are witnessing something special. Hell, I Think two of our '25 h.s. recruits would have won this tourney if they'd have entered. Lol

I just read over on Turks board that only PSU "high" recruits were doing well at the Scuffle.

Pierce listed as being a Kaleb Young - Murin level recruit for us. Despite not being ranked in the top 250 (Murin in the 30s, Young in the 20s).

Alternative reality...
Turk has been permanently affected by PSU. Seriously, that guy's entire life has been altered and he still can't figure it out.

That extra bonus point got them the tie with OK for second. Team point deduction was a factor...

If we sent our full contingent of backups, we could have used Nagao, Cochran, Sealey, Facundo lol.

This is literally 50% of PSU backups
I was thinking the same. Oklahoma sent multiples at each weight. Do all of those guys score team points or just the highest placer or is there a designated ‘starter’ at each weight?

Facundo participating at 57 would have won it for us. Great to see these guys compete. Dunbar, McHenry, Steen, Kelly, & Levine - really enjoyed rooting for them and are really good wrestlers in their own right. Ryder, Mirasola and LiTTle Mirasola - future looks bright!

I'm almost positive you only get points from the top scorer at each weight.

If that’s the case there’s an advantage to entering multiple guys at a weight. Since our guys were not starters most weren’t seeded, so luck of the draw for path to medal rounds. Just putting in perspective what these guys accomplished by finishing tied for 2nd.
