...on ESPNU on Sirius said Ohio State has looked like Bama. Do they even watch the games? Bama would have beat OSU by 28 last night. These analysts are total shills and dimwits.

Good, let people hype them, let them think that. I'll take both of those , when they roll into the Valley to play us..

And yet there are still some dimwits that keep watching and listening to them. Right, Howie??

24 hour sports media. So many channels and venues. They have to have something to say. Why do we care? I just hope OSU doesn't get smart and just decide to pound the rock.

It doesn't matter what they say now. If Penn State beats Tosu and these guys are still shilling for Tosu (fluke win, etc.), then we have a problem.

Guys - we have an opportunity to win this debate on 9/29/18...

Let the media talk up OSU all they want. We have a very good team, and the game is a "White Out"... if PSU wins, we have a lot to crow about!

I thought OSU looked very beatable on Saturday night.

Their defense isn't great. TCU torched them on several big plays and I am confident that PSU's skill players are as good (if not better) than TCU's).

Furthermore, TCU allowed 14 defense points (1 TD was a nice play by Bosa, 1 was a terrible pick six). Recall, OSU won by 12. That's not to imply that defensive TDs are "fluky", but OSU's offense only scored 26 points. I'd be shocked if they held PSU to 26 or less.

I really rustled some OSU jimmies when I had the audacity to suggest over on reddit that OSU was not a great team this year and that I felt TCU and the refs gifted them that game.

My gut tells me our game with them will be a close win but my eyes tell me we have the potential to boat race them.

Can't predict that, but I can see it too. PSU is slowly but surely coming together and if we gel that night, it could get really tough for the scarlet and gray. But I'll just take a win. I see the game as a toss up, but feel PSU has the greater upside right now.

I've been accused here and there of wearing blue and white glasses, but I can't bring myself to seeing a scenario where we boat race OSU.
I hope I'm wrong, and if we do, save this post so you get the credit you deserve!

Here's a scenario. Not saying this will happen, but it's a scenario and not entirely implausible.

O-line plays a great game opening up holes for Miles and giving Trace just enough time to find his receivers. OSU defense has not been stellar except against Rutgers. As we know, even Kansas is stellar against Ruthgers.

Anyway, if this happens and our receivers get open and catch the ball, PSU could get over 30 points.

Haskins has a great arm and is accurate given time like many QBs, but TCU showed that if you put a little pressure on him, he's not nearly as accurate, again like most QBs. But Haskins is still young and will be in the most hostile environment of his life on 9/29 and may get rattled. If this happens, expect a couple turnovers and a few sacks. Edit: Haskins is also not very mobile. TCU took advantage of that.

To me the key to the game is Dobbins. Priority number 1 is stop the run game. If PSU does that, and TCU did a decent job of it, then PSU could have a really nice win.

But I see a close game like the last 2 seasons. Either side can win and it likely comes down to who makes the fewest errors.

Not sure about that, but OSU's first defensive touchdown should have been a safety, not a TD (defensive player was out of bounds while touching the ball in the endzone).

Maybe I'm not understanding your point. I was referring to talking heads in this thread. They pass themselves off as experts and I think understand less about what's going on then many average viewers do.

They are lazy ... that is all... maybe because when they actually make observations about the details of real games they are watching, their several brain cells hurt. So, they just let their mouths run on auto pilot.

A lot of these idiots repeat what they hear other idiots blather. They don't check facts and don't apply any original thinking or add any new information when stating their arrogant opinions. ESPN is the worst but not only place you find this... BTN is another.

I said POTENTIAL! No guarantees here! :)

I said TCU AND the refs. Certainly the refs wrapped up five points for them but TCU’s unforced errors handed them the rest.

I thought of good ol Dennis Green after that game - TCU let OSU off the hook!
