I still get The Atlantic and National Review in print form. I also buy hard copies of books. Some things I just prefer that way to digital.
Sooo subtle odshow…Sports Illustrated sold a lot of magazines by lying about Paterno and PSU and all of us. It has a use in the bathroom, but it's not reading.
Now that's a latte magazine right there... ((Hides under table)).
All kinds of “Be right back” here.
Smart man, the woman on the cover was a man at one time.. Maybe, who knows, still may beI gave up on reading popular magazines and watching most news after the treatment of PSU in late 2011. I came to realize it’s not as much about reporting but rather about some nexus between advertising revenue and algos measuring clicks and ratings. Like the old song about cynical news reporting by one of the Eagles, is the head dead yet? They are always ready to move on to the next real or imaginary crisis. Till the next one. So one final comment, when I looked at the picture of the cover I have no idea who that woman is, what sport she played or why she’s worthy of a cover? I likely will end my day, week , month, year and life still not knowing.
They are hens. I am talking chicks.Chick’s moms? 🤷♀️

Thank God Naomi doesn't have any anxiety showing off her body!!!Which cover? This one?
I read a lot and for years I shunned and ridiculed e-readers. About a year ago I got an Amazon Paperwhite as a gift. I rejected it for awhile and said I would never use it. Then I tried it and really liked it. It is much easier on the eyes than paper. I can change the font size and type easily. I can read longer without eye discomfort. I can store hundreds of books on it. I can get e-files of most books for free via various websites. When I go on vacation or travel for business I can take as many books as I want and the device weighs practically nothing. It is very convenient to use in a plane or car. I went from being a skeptic to a believer in e-readers.Yeah, I prefer a hard copy if by the pool or something, and I will absolutely not read a book on any kind of e-reader. Wife gets The Economist and Sunday WaPo in hard copy; I find digital magazine/newspaper articles easier to read since I don't have to flip to the back to finish them.
It became political ten years ago? I ended my subscription when they did several pages on the Watts riots after Rodney King was beaten by the cops.SI used to be a fine magazine. I stopped buying it and reading it about 10 years ago when it became political.
Good point. I'm a slow learner. It became political ten years ago? I ended my subscription when they did several pages on the Watts riots after Rodney King was beaten by the cops.
I really like my Kindle Paperwhite for all the reasons you mentioned. However, my default preference is still for the physical experience of reading a book and having it in my collection on the shelves afterward.I read a lot and for years I shunned and ridiculed e-readers. Let's be honest here. You folks aren't tuning out because it became political. You tuned out because it is politics that you don't like. Just be honest with yourselves. And in reality, content deemed to be "political" is still a tiny fraction of the overall content.
Ok, moving to the next lawn.
Actually, I've never followed SI closely at all, so you are wrong as you often are.And you tuned in because it's politics that you do like. Just be honest with yourself.
That aside, for me, the SI cover in question is gag-inducing. So sue me.
On the other hand, I tuned SI out long ago. Just like I've tuned out most media...because media no longer seeks to inform and report...but rather to lecture and proselytize.
pAiN iS cOmInG!!!!Actually, I've never followed SI closely at all, so you are wrong as you often are.
Now get back to that test board and Stop the Steal!

I tuned into the thread because it said "SI Cover" in the subject line and I was curious who it was referring to.You tuned in to this thread because of the angle favorable to your brand of politics, which digs guys pretending to be chicks. Be honest with yourself.
Now get back to your "next lawn."

Really? So, the folks in this thread saying that they tuned out would still be bent if SI was promoting, say, anti-BLM messages? My bet is that they would be extending their subscriptions.Believe it or not, there are lots of people for whom things like sports is an escape and the point of watching it or reading about it is to get away from unpleasant things like politics for awhile.
I think it took a lot of balls to do this! Here, Here…..or give the cover date and I’ll fine the cover
Trans model makes Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover history: ‘If you don’t like it, you can go somewhere else’
Well, to show you how old I am, I paid $125 for my life membership. I called in 2012 and withdrew my membership. With regard to the Penn Stater, I found the only section I perused was the obits. The rest of the magazine was basically useless.Pfft. I got that lifetime membership for $500 way back when I was a dumb recent grad. Yay.

I don't disagree with you, but may I then assume that you also include Fox News? And you tuned in because it's politics that you do like. Just be honest with yourself.

Would it still be gag inducing if you were never told that she is transgender??And you tuned in because it's politics that you do like. Just be honest with yourself.

Wine Spectator? Lol, ahoy palloyI subscribe to Esquire and Wine Spectator. I think they started free by using up some excess frequent flyer miles. Both are fine magazines and I couldn’t enjoy them online.
I subscribed to Playboy years ago for the scintillating article’s.I browse it from time to time. I like the athletics spotlights.
Of course you did Thomas!!I subscribed to Playboy years ago for the scintillating article’s.

I stuck around because I love to see how much the subject irritates some people. It's entertainment for me. Thank you.

It would be gag inducing if you wrote in and said she was your wife and you only found out now that she's a he!!!!Would it still be gag inducing if you were never told that she is transgender??
