The 2018 team really reminds me of the 1992 or 1993 team. I think we may see the same dynamic where one year soon we are dominant (e.g., 1994). There is too much talent for this not to happen.
Yea, we desperately wanted it...it's our first 10 win season since 77! We're building a program, and it takes one step at a time. You guys sound like such elitist douchebags thru this whole thread. Honestly, I know very little about PSU's current team, but if you think that just bc of your history that starting next year you will be automatically better than us then I look forward to another matchup to prove ourselves.Look, we played like shit today, and every risk Franklin took blew up in his face. Call it karma if you wish. Enjoy the win. Kentucky played better today. All the mouthing off showed how desperately you wanted it.

Really? Ask UK when they'll sign up for a four game series. We can play them all at UK too if they like. Those guys are clowns, and acted like it. I will say their injury antics were definitely top notch though. Well coached indeed.
Maybe. But did we know what we had returning in 94. I remember Kerry Collins getting booed at the end of the last regular season home game against Illinois. And Dick Vermeil made his famous "this passing game sucks" comment earlier in the 93 season. That 94 team at least a little bit came out of nowhere.
While accepting the trophy for Citrus Bowl win Stoops puts CJF in his place when stating: “Dont let anyone question who the real blue and white is”. This in response to CJF taking a shot at UK at team pep rally. As the saying goes, don’t let your mouth write checks your ass can’t cash.
Exactly. 'Twas amazing the only cramping occurred when KY was on defense, and only when we had drives ongoing. Quite "ironic".Really? Ask UK when they'll sign up for a four game series. ...UK leads the series now 3-2. We did play a 4 game series back in the 1970s when JoePa was coach. We split the series 2-2 with each team wing a game both home and away
I’m pretty sure the series is tied. PSU also beat UK in a bowl game I think in the late 90’s.
In fact those are the averages, so how is it possible a large number of your players aren’t academically ineligible? Mathematically it’s not possible. Like I said, the next UNC. But you got ten wins, so there’s that.

This is pure gold. Lol. You don’t think UK would agree to a 4-game series with PSU? All at home? What are you smoking or are you just that ignorant? UK would gladly play a home and home with PSU. Gladly. But before that were to occur you’d have to change your philosophy on scheduling out of conference games against the likes of Villanova and the Little Sisters of the Poor. Very very few P5 teams play an OOC schedule as weak as PSU.
At 2.288 shouldn’t half of their team (based on averages) be academically ineligible? I mean I know I was edumicated in The North West Virginia town of York PA, but I think my math is kinda right

There were 4 or 5 players left in Lexington due to grades. Don’t be smug as every team has their under achievers.
I can't believe that was 20 years ago. Wow, time really does fly.My pardon, you are correct. PSU did beat UK 20 years ago in the Outback Bowl in Tampa. I stand corrected.
They should make a rule that if a players gets attended to he has to sit out the entire series, or at least 4 to 5 plays, that'll stop that,Maybe have your guys fake more injuries next time.
You may not be im the minority. There are still many of us still around who remember when.
Being civil is never out of style. There are many of us, but I fear we might be of an age or age-group that is losing influence.

True....its only valued by civil individuals.I absolutely would agree that it’s not out of style. It’s just not valued.
Yep, those days are long gone, along with the poise those teams showed.Yep. I'll never, ever get used to it from the guys in the white helmets but I know I'm in the minority.

How about the targeting? Or the late hit out of bounds that injured an old woman? Those seemed dirty to me.Really? Ask UK when they'll sign up for a four game series. The curious case of Kentucky flops...
In the 4th Quarter, at about the 10 minute mark, a UK defender 'gets injured' after TM hits PF for a first down inside the 20. This after a pretty good sustained drive by PSU. We eventually score.
Later, at about the 5:30 mark, another UK defender 'gets injured' after Sanders' first down run on 3rd down, again, inside the 20 (again, after a first down).
Fast forward about 25 seconds, and after our first down pass play to the endzone (where TM nearly hooks up with Thompkins), another UK defender 'gets injured'. From the time the play ends until the time we hike the ball for second down, over two minutes elapsed. This would be our final offensive series of the game. I'm sure part of Stoops' game plan was to interrupt TM if/when he gets hot since he's known as a streaky type player. Bush league.
I am a huge PSU fan, went and played at Bucknell and am as aggressive as anyone you know(not physically, fighting type aggressive) and want to win more than anyone. However, I know when I played, the heat of the battle sometimes created aggressive plays. Both teams have some but in this bowl game PSU played a tough game against a team that really wanted the game(not saying PSU did not,) but there were some milestones KY wanted, so it ended up being a hard fought game. Both teams fought hard, made mistakes, and cost points, which in turn cost PSU the game. Most of the KY message board poster were polite, rather than what we wouln't normally see from most BIG 10 teams. I for one thought it was a very hard fought game, better team won (scored more points). END of story. Hope we play KY again down the road and get that game in the right column.
Lol... Franklin doesn't take well to that kind of stuff, and does hold a grudge. Stoops better hope he does not see PSU again as long as Franklin is there...
With that said, Franklin probably shouldn't have mentioned anything like that. But really, who cares, PSU has a MUCH higher ceiling than that other "blue and white" team will ever have. Let me know when Kentucky wins the SEC.
Regardless, Kentucky played well and deserved to win this game. I still love my Lions and see big things coming.
There is bad blood between Stoops and Franklin. Franklin is despised in Kentucky. Stoops hates his guts and will always have UK ready to play a Franklin-coached team. We will be hyped every time we play his team. Franklin used a trick play to score when a game was already decided back in 2014 just to run up the score when he was at Vandy. The kind of play we will never forget. Fake a kneel down in victory formation only to throw a jump pass into the end zone to score with 55 seconds left in the game.
If you get a chance, look at Stoops after the fake punt failed. Stoops is yelling at Franklin across the field, “Bring it on, asshole”. You can read his lips.
UK and PSU will always have talented players our history is tied at 3-3 over the years. I hope we meet again in the future. Hopefully, you will have gotten rid of your dirt bag coach.
Your team ceiling is no higher than UK’s. The SEC is a tougher conference. If you can’t beat UK, how do you think you could handle Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU. You can’t win the Big 10
We were evenly matched. #12 versus #14. 4.5 point spread. Identical records
UK was just a little better than PSU today. It was an exciting game with good drama at the end.
Have a happy new year.
It's not the best season in UK history. I believe 1977 was. They were 10-1, unbeaten in the SEC, but on probation and ineligible for post season and SEC championship title. They finished #6 and had the No. 2 overall pick in the draft that season. They cost us a national championship shot by handing us our only loss, 24-20 at PSU. The year before they beat us in Lexington (7-5 PSU team), 22-6. But in 1978 (11-1 team) we beat them 30-0 in Lexington. and it took them 40 years to have another 9-win regular season. Actually, the 1950 team coached by Bear Bryant was probably the best. They ended up 11-1 and #7, but beat #1 Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl after the final poll. But even if it wasn't their best team, it's up there for them so it took one of the best UK teams ever to beat one of our middling teams playing badly by 3 points. The announcers literally said this was the best season in Kentucky history. I mean, wow. Let them have it. Lol.
In my view the 94 team was born at the end of the 1993 season in the comeback against MSU from down 37-17 to win 38-37. After that we whipped a Heath Shuler-led Tennessee team with Kerry Collins outplaying Shuler.Maybe. But did we know what we had returning in 94. I remember Kerry Collins getting booed at the end of the last regular season home game against Illinois. And Dick Vermeil made his famous "this passing game sucks" comment earlier in the 93 season. That 94 team at least a little bit came out of nowhere.
