Stoops throws shade at CJF

Maybe. But did we know what we had returning in 94. I remember Kerry Collins getting booed at the end of the last regular season home game against Illinois. And Dick Vermeil made his famous "this passing game sucks" comment earlier in the 93 season. That 94 team at least a little bit came out of nowhere.
Actually, the '93 team looked great in their bowl game. I predicted the '94 team would never be held under 30 and they weren't.

LOL. Ok. But, quit trying to have it both ways - can't be the best win in program history for UK (and everyone is acting like it is) but Penn State is a mediocre team and has sucked for the past 20 years (if you can do math, you know we're in the Top 20 over that time span in terms of win %, despite the worst five year stretch in program history). On that same list are Wisconsin, Ohio State, Auburn, LSU, Bama, and Florida. Again, math - you think because Bama wins a ton you get some sort of benefit. News for you - Saban couldn't cut it in the B1G and only in the land of free Dodge Chargers does he get it done now. Take care.

Meh
Your just a jerk. I clearly said your program was solid, just not a giant. Florida was a much bigger win for Kentucky. This was huge cause it was their 10th win and beating a name program was a nice tip of the cap. But regardless of the past poor old Kentucky and their team of rejects ran the ball right down your blue blood booties and closed the deal THIS YEAR.

Ahh
So you see it as “we didn’t play until the 4th quarter”. I saw it more as Kentucky’s coaches got vanilla too soon and their players relaxed. I think you were a great play by McSorley on 3rd and a bunch (gotta love that kid, he’s a gamer) from possibly getting waxed. But I thought the 1st half was just a defensive struggle. Defense has been Kentucky’s calling card all year and imo also the strength of penn state so I wasn’t surprised at a low scoring close game. #1 for Kentucky is a gamebreaker, I was shocked he kicked it to him.

First half was a special teams struggle ie one teams special teams struggling. Kentucky’s first 17 points came off special teams blunders. (Failed fake punt, punt return td and kickoff oob). Add two missed field goals. Thems the breaks.

Anyway come watch next years in game threads for the Michigan/Michigan state/Iowa/Ohio state game and you’ll see how the fan base reacts during a loss when something besides pride is actually on the line. Odds are we won’t win all 4, the world will be coming to an end, and opposing fans will come call people pedophiles.

FIFY.

We almost lost to Appalachian State. We know what kind of team we have. Had we showed up at all the first three quarters and not gifted UK 16 points off of a trifecta of ridiculous special teams plays, this game isn't close. For us, the game is a lose/lose situation - we win, and it's not noteworthy because UK is terrible. We lose, and well, we lose to terrible UK. The latter happened. Ah well.

Everytime we had momentum they had an “injured” player. They learned this from watching the MSU game against us. Felton got “hurt” yet 2 plays later caught the winning TD. He healed quickly and miraculously.
New rule is needed. Any time play is stopped for an injured player, that player must sit out the rest of that series!

No, you're right. They had a really nice comeback against Michigan State and then blew out Tennessee. I expected them to be good in '94. But not historically good like they ended up being I guess that was my point

One good thing is that Kentucky was far from terrible. Penn didn't lose to a "terrible" team.

Ranked No.7 nationally in scoring defense
No.19 in pass defense
No.23 in total defense
Josh Allen No. 2 nationally in sacks and No.6 nationally in TFL
Benny No.6 in rush yards and No.9 in touchdowns

Our defense was the difference in every game we played except Georgia and Tennessee.

That is the perception. Losing to Kentucky- regardless of what the team actually looks like on the field- is losing to a “terrible team”. You know completely what that is like as a UK basketball fan. If UK were to lose to a good Seton Hall team UK fans would lose their minds. Hell, UK lost to Duke badly in the first game of the season and quite a few people I spoke to wrote the team off for the season. It’s the nature of the beast.

This team won the big ten two years ago and the fiesta bowl last year. No one here would be going full lunatic after winning the citrus bowl to cap off a mediocre season. Sorry.

Average team got beat in this instance. Mediocre performance by a mediocre coach. Come to the SEC. winning a conference championship means more in the best college football conference

You caught lightning in a bottle this year.Won ten games with a mature team and a couple of studs.Enjoy this now because later this year your one armed team will be back being b........slapped by any team with a pulse.

Hope we play you again next year. We would beat another average PSU team

Our history with PSU is 3-3. So you are in our competitive bracket.

4 games played a half century ago and two bowl games at the end of seasons that represent high water marks for one program and mediocre to average seasons to the other do not a competitive bracket make.

Kentucky hoops is 0-3 against southern cal but no one with half a brain is going to say they’re in a bracket above uk.

Keep lowering your standards to accept more than 71% of all applications and you just might win. Your recruiting has gotten better but at the expense of gpa.I have family attending UK and they love it. But don't sell your soul to compete with free car Alabama!

Or in Kentucky's case, not winning conference championships.

I suspect the meaningless game talk, etc. is all just trying to rationalize a loss to Kentucky, but my honest two cents for the Nittany Lions - your team's talent isn't so superior that you can just show up and win. You better come to play or you'll end up taking an L from a basketball school.

Go back and read our board when this game was announced. We were never excited for it, and neither were our players. Enjoy your win and hydrate your defense - those boys flop at the most beneficial times, you know?

The soul has already been sold for basketball victories.

Good game today and good luck to Penn State next year.I think Coach Stoops comments may go back to when Franklin was coaching at Vanderbilt. I think he was still bitter at Franklin running up the score in the last minute when the game could have been finished with a kneel down.

Great effort for your fourth-ever post! I wonder what the first three were....

Franklin ran up the score on Kentucky badly once at Vandy. Now at a much better program, he loses to them. Karma!

Great effort on your third-ever post...would love to see what the other two were...no...not really...by the way...the tobacco is ripe...better get to ah-bailing it!

Don’t care enough to research how uninterested you were. It sure looked like your players cared going down the stretch.. sorry you had to lose in such a spirited comeback. Maybe next year for you guys.

I think when your “tough guy” RB started dancing around like a bitch in a mini skirt at a night club and when your roided up meathead LB started talking trash to our QB it pissed our guys off. What was amazing was we sleep walked through three quarters and still almost beat the “greatest team in Kentucky history.” Which would be the football equivalent of banging the “hottest girl with the most teeth at a Lexington drive thru on a Saturday night.” Now crawl back to the hills and hollers of your own board.

A better example would be in UK lost to a 6th place in the BIG PSU hoops team. That PSU team would be a quality team, but no way the UK hoops fans would except that and would act like they lost to Rutgers.

This UK football team, a very good team this year which is their best season in 40 years and during that time there has not been many good years.

Next year it back to the bottom below Vandy and Rocky Top for UK, and keep sucking up to Alabama they love it.

But you care enough to post here. Hydrate those players. And our players didn’t care. Very obvious.

Kentucky is better at basketball than PSU is at football, and better at football than PSU is at basketball. Not even debatable.

Why are you here? Go to your board and enjoy your once in a lifetime season. In less than a year most who watch college football won’t even remember who played in the last Citrus Bowl.

They’re definitely not here to explain all the flops and fake injuries by their defense.

Yep. The phrase "act like you've been there before" came to mind more times than once. Then I realized, they haven't been there before. Let them hoot and holler. We had a chance to shut them up and couldn't do it. 4 minutes left and we let them run it down our throats. How in the world you don't put 9 people in the box and tell your DBs "good luck boys, you're on your own" with THAT QB is beyond me. One of the worst throwing QBs I've seen in quite some time. And we let their best player beat us when everyone knew he was getting the ball.
So you straight up got whooped. UK had the X’s and O’s, the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s. When Stevie Wonder could see Benny was getting the ball, PSU couldn’t stop him with 12 in the box. You got whooped and big boy’d by a better team. The three best players on the field played for Kentucky and Stoops is better than Franklin. Hold the L high and own it. Go, Cats.

There is bad blood between Stoops and Franklin. Franklin is despised in Kentucky. Stoops hates his guts and will always have UK ready to play a Franklin-coached team. We will be hyped every time we play his team. Franklin used a trick play to score when a game was already decided back in 2014 just to run up the score when he was at Vandy. The kind of play we will never forget. Fake a kneel down in victory formation only to throw a jump pass into the end zone to score with 55 seconds left in the game.

If you get a chance, look at Stoops after the fake punt failed. Stoops is yelling at Franklin across the field, “Bring it on, asshole”. You can read his lips.

UK and PSU will always have talented players our history is tied at 3-3 over the years. I hope we meet again in the future. Hopefully, you will have gotten rid of your dirt bag coach.

Your team ceiling is no higher than UK’s. The SEC is a tougher conference. If you can’t beat UK, how do you think you could handle Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU. You can’t win the Big 10

We were evenly matched. #12 versus #14. 4.5 point spread. Identical records

UK was just a little better than PSU today. It was an exciting game with good drama at the end.

Have a happy new year.
Congrats on the win. Well deserved. The rest of what you wrote is delusional.

3 point whooping - could you be any dumber and I am grading on the Kentucky curve which gives you and extra 25 IQ points to compensate for the inbreeding down there.

You got crushed. Attacking my intelligence will not change the fact that the mighty PSU took an L from Kentucky. Go beat your wife, or boyfriend. Whatever.
