I will have the turtle soup.........and make it snappy!!Red Snapper for two would have been a better choice.
Wow. I do not believe that I have ever seen this in a draft.
Targeting a guy to get the tee with their undrafted free agents.
...Steelers' current long snapper
Is currently 36 and ready to retire...
yes its happens more than some think, off the top of my head..Belichek drafted a long snapper in the 5th round 2 years ago, from Navy no less. Not unprecedented at all.
OTOH if you can draft a guy that will be on your team for 10 yrs with a 7th rounder, good move, Imo. The other guys you mentioned floating around, if they could do it, the other team would not have released him.It happens but still a questionable move imo. There are a lot of LS available both coming out of college and ones that have been on other teams in the past and still trying to get a contract. And none of them are really any better or worse than the next guy. Not sure why they thought this particular snapper was so much better than any other guy they could get as a FA a day later.
Yea but they could have gotten that LS that's going to be on the team for 10 years in FA .OTOH if you can draft a guy that will be on your team for 10 yrs with a 7th rounder, good move, Imo. you might be right, they could have taken Michael Sam.Yea but they could have gotten that LS that's going to be on the team for 10 years in FA .
