This could have gotten me in trouble. Say nothing.

I was pulling out of a parking lot yesterday when a young African American male walked by. His jeans were down below his ass in the back, exposing his underwear. Literally, his whole ass covered by underwear was exposed. Ridiculous and gross.

For a split second, I thought about rolling down my window and telling him to pull up his pants. Then I thought the better of it. I could see being labeled RACIST. and the situation making its way to social media. Just what I would need, of course. Perhaps more relevant, it wasn’t my business. I didn’t know the guy, and it’s not like he was in my living room.

Sometimes, many times, it’s best to resist the temptation and say nothing.
He might have pulled you out of your car and gave you a good ASS BEATING too!

You don't really think that is true, do you? Sagging pants started in the prison system because inmates were not allowed to wear belts and prison issued pants weren't exactly tailor fit.
Well, that's not going to get them to change their behavior, though. hagberg's story has a chance.

In today's world, speaking the truth often gets you tagged as a racist. Get used to it. That's what our world has become.

Real snowflakes are white.

White people never look at themselves with the same consternation and anger as they look at others.

I will follow Dave Chappelle's lead regarding the opioid crisis involving rural whites - I don't care. Further, I say "let them all kill themselves - good riddance".

You mean - like that kind of truth? ;)

Why, thank you for that history lesson!

It doesn't matter what I think. I was merely passing along an anecdote about what one father told his son.

When I criticized my nephew for an earring or another nephew for long hair, does that make me racist?

My nephew has one of those long millennial beards. I tell him every single time I see him that he needs to shave. What social rule am I breaking?

Thats a military thing unless your SOCOM;) and the beard thing is simply bucking the system much like the lower pants ;)

To mind your own business when the appearance of others has no bearing on your life.

That would be my guess.

Thumbs down. Dislike.

For the record, my nephew and I have that sort of relationship. He never calls me "uncle" (I wouldn't answer him if he did -- I wasn't an adult when he was born). He usually calls me "old man". And I respond by asking when he's gonna shave (in other words, acting like the old man he just called me).

That’s fine you have that sort of relationship but it certainly wasn’t clear when you asked your initial question.

If I ran into your nephew and told him to shave, I’d say I was breaking a “social rule.”

I think man buns look dumb but I don’t mention it to every millennial I see with one.

I thought it was pretty obvious that some of us were joking about social rules violations. I guess I didn't quite hit the mark.

It's none of your damn business what anyone else want to wear- or theirs about what you want to wear. What is so complicated?

Way to go, Bob! Despite your arrogant, entitled feeling that it was somehow your place to share with the guy what you thought about his mode of dress, you STFU.

Because, as it IS none of your business, you might have been told to F off, or alternatively, beaten within an inch of your prim and proper, scones-and-lattes life.

That would have been unfortunate. Though, if it happens, many here would happily review the photos and chuckle about them. IF it happens, please get pictures of your injuries. Thanks.
What makes you think a guy that wears his pants below his ass has the capability of beating bob to a pulp? Where does one learn such skills?

Asking for a friend.

I think some people completely missed the fun in the original post. And a lot of the posts that followed. Oh well. Keep being way too serious. Be you boo. (Is that proper use? Asking for another Gen Xer.)

You and your nephew appear to have a good relationship. But that doesn't comport with the societal police that roam the net so you must be chastised.

Gotta love modern 'civilization'.

The way people dress in public IS other peoples' business. That is why there can be laws for indecent exposure. As for this particular case, I don't know if it violated any local ordinances.

Good job, you are woke!! Although, not sure why you were studying his ass!! (Not that there is anything wrong with that!)

actually, I guess this makes you a libertarian. If he isn’t hurting anyone, what does it matter. Here is your red pill, enjoy!!

Lol. So Bob is a cop? No, he's not. And he does not get to enforce the laws, as if anything he described would violate the law.

How he looks doesnt matter, once you've seen Bob.

People who think the Lawnboyz chain is in bad taste have been accused of being racist. So yes, I agree that it's best to keep quiet. Heck, you're already being called racist for even starting this thread.

I must have missed something. Who called them racist?

If only Dave Petersen had the same restraint!
