unc is not at the top of the college basketball world right now. They are not a championship team this year. Therefore this looks to be a good time for the ncaa to lay down the gauntlet on unc. I'm thinking lose one scholarship for next season and mandatory attendance taking at study halls. That will send a strong message.

I'm looking at you, mark emmert.

hypocrisy of NCAA in full view

came down like a ton of bricks on Penn State when they didn't have the legal authority to get involved in a criminal matter but won't touch UNC because their basketball team brings in all that money

Doesn't the ncaa prohibit ncaa March madness tournament games in Nevada and Jersey because gambling is legal there? I thought I read something about that years ago. Anyway, guess where Marky Emmert was last night? In Las Vegas (? In a casino arena?) for the PAC 12 championship game sitting court side for all to see.

I've never held back my feeling of scorn nor my belief that UNC needs to be punished and sooner than later.

Should be no "good time" or "bad time" ...

to impose sanctions, just a right time or a wrong time. Apparently where UNC is concerned any time over the past several decades has been the right time, but the NCAA has proven beyond all doubt that's not how it chooses to govern.

IMHO, after reading the Weinstein Report do not see the NCAA placing major sanctions on the men's basketball program. In contrast, men' football and women's basketball might take a major hit.
