Time for a QB change?

We are not 5-0 bc of our QB play. We are 5-0 despite our QB play. Cliffords Passing Efficiency is ranked #58 in the nation. And thats with having tremendous wr and te play.
Scored with under a minute left to beat Purdue "despite" the QB play? You are officially a moron.

Couple things: Saban would have started Allar but he would have done so week 1 not leading into the Michigan game. Hackenberg absolutely would have been the QB over McSorley if Saban was in charge as McSorley wouldn't have even been someone he'd consider recruiting as a QB. I don't think it's about loyalty as much as it is about experience.
I'll go one further, I'd start this Powers kid. I see something in him. He has a hose.

Saban would call all the fanboys crying for Allar "rat poison." ;)
Like Saint Nick hasn't had a few belly laughs thinking about fanboy couch coaches in his career.

Gotta get Chad's arm on tape. He's not just good looking, he can throw.

Playoff? This team was pegged 8-4 at best to start the year generally. I don't remember you posting until this week...unless you had a different handle?
These guys who type with one hand on the keyboard when they talk about Allar like he's going to waive a magic wand and turn PSU into the greatest show on turf are precious.
I used to love Sunday mornings and belly laugh at the comics section. Now you can chuckle every day by coming here.
I hope Allar has a great career. He'll be out there as soon as the coaching staff decides he's the best option to lead PSU.
How in God's name could anyone be stupid enough to think they know better than an entire staff of division one coaches?

No he's not gonna wave a magic wand. He's going to keep teams honest so they can't condense the field and he's going to make some plays. Yes he'll make some mistakes but he'll give us a chance.

Does Franklin turn to the freshman quarterback Sean Clifford in this time of despair? Thats the only way i can see us from not losing every single game the rest of the way. If he doesnt, i think you HAVE to fire him.

Nobody wanted Clifford over PSU legend Trace....

The quote above yours is from the week after we lost to Sparty in '18.

Trace has yet to complete a pass all day. Stevens can't stay healthy. SEAN. CLIFFORD. TIME!

This is from the App State game thread.

Wrong. Sean Clifford has future pro written all over him. With the trajectory of Franklin's recruiting since he got here, it has been clear (since about this time last year) that 2019 and 2020 would be our best chances at an NC. 2018 actually looked like a probable down year but we may go 11-1.

The backup is always a future pro...until he plays.

He has an excellent arm. His throws have been precise, under duress.

The key will be what Tommy shows throwing. This offense is modifiable for mobile or pocket passing. Strides in OL play along with recruiting difference makers makes either transition much easier.

I am not immune; this was my old handle until I got locked out of the account. Excellent arm judgment after a handful of garbage time throws.

Oh....fanboys and the shiny new object!
Allar will play when the coaches believe he is the best QB on the roster.
His day will come....soon or later.....I don't know.
I just hope I'm here to see the first fanboy turn on him. PS its inevitable.

Not time for a QB change.

But, I don't have great faith in Sean Clifford -- simply too inconsistent and doesn't throw long effectively. The kid in the bullpen might come into play in the next 3 games.

Wondering if Clifford struggles vs Michigan at what point, if at all would Franklin put in Allar.

Ever notice that some are stuck on this:
If PSU wins, the other team stinks.....or we win in spite of Franklin
See any parallels with Clifford?
Different situations, but the same fanboys.

Question for ya ... I was away from the board for awhile but lando commando sounds just like a know it all and constant repeater that I remember from the past, do you know who I mean ?
Yes, I put him on ignore. But I can’t remember what poster from the past he reminds me of, but he definitely used to be on here under a different name.

If Clifford were capable of doing any better, he would have by this time.
I mean could Allar really do any worse? Clifford has the 58th best pass effiency, and is officially the worst QB in the entire country on deep passes. Allar looked very good and composed in limited action. I don't see how Allar could do worse than that. Well its impossible to do worse than that on deep passes.

Clifford plays hard, but have seen this so many times. Offense needs a spark, I say its time to start Allar. Will have two weeks to prepare for Michigan.
First time this has come up on this board. 🙄😵‍💫
