184 is over the top competitive. Nickal might be better off not going up.Ouch! Lot of firepower in those 3 weight classes
Offhand, I can only recall one recent instance in which both national finalists eventually moved up: Stieber and Oliver. They moved up in successive years. Can anyone think of a time when both finalists in a weight moved up a weight the next year? (Nickal and Martin) I can't find any in my memory, or in limited search time. Certainly with all of the projected moves 84 would seem to be the toughest weight in my mind, leaving 74 wide open.
I just hope Bo stays at 174...He will be a National Champion and rack up some big bonus points !!!! Rasheed has a shot to be all american if he continues to improve....Can anyone think of a time when both finalists in a weight moved up a weight the next year? Yep...clicks, clicks, and more clicks is what The Open Mat is hoping for...though I do think there's a portion of all fan bases that don't keep up every day, and can learn a lot by reading such articles.Well, it's an interesting article, but they are as much in the dark about it as we are haha.
On paper, way too early, the PSU line-up for 2017-18 looks pretty good .Well, according to Cael, he is expecting Nickal to stay at 174 one more year? While Hall redshirts, probably with the expectation the lineup in 2017 will be Joseph, Hall, Nickal.
yep. gives the rest of us something to prepare and aim for!On paper, way too early, the PSU line-up for 2017-18 looks pretty good .

Nevills will be a Junior in 2017-18.Do I have the classes right?
Wouldn't be surprised to see Moss hold down 141# for a year.
So with the exception of Zain, the 2018-2019 lineup would be the same. Pretty solid!Nevills would be a JR

Joined by or adding to Hall, Manville, Nevills, Nevills, Lee, and Lee. And Fix and Wittlake would be a very nice adds to that team. All on Cael's spreadsheet I'm sure. The big year for graduation (losing wrestlers to eligibility), will happen after 2018-19; Cortez, Nolf, Nickal, Rasheed, Cassar, and Nevills.
Cael must be a magician to make this all work with just 9.9 ships
Hear ya, but Cael has created something that transcends scholarships. It's definitely part of the equation for recruits and their parents, but there's (positive) elements of coming to Penn State and wrestling for Cael that are different than all but a couple schools, and maybe all schools right now. Those other factors are huge in recruiting.Cael must be a magician to make this all work with just 9.9 ships
Is that the slush fund they always talk about on HR?Hear ya, but Cael has created something that transcends scholarships. Yes, and they talk about it with reverence and awe.Is that the slush fund they always talk about on HR?

You have his eligibility correct, but he's classified a RSSO (Redshirt Sophomore).Cortez is redshirt junior with three years of eligibility, correct?
Damn! Too many late nights...133 Cortez-Junior
CowboyUp's post had him as a Junior. Methinks you've been staring at your computer screen too long!!
It's easy to remember if you say it like this ... he has the exact same eligibility as Nolf & Bo. (and Nevills, Rasheed, and Cassar). All of them have three years remaining, wow. It just gets confusing because Cassar and Cortez haven't wrestled for two years. Still only get five to complete once you start. You have his eligibility correct, but he's classified a RSSO (Redshirt Sophomore).
I'm thinking dropping Dayton Fix into this lineup somewhere would be nice ☺2017-2018
