According to two people with knowledge of the situation, Maryland Coach DJ Durkin was the first to reach out to The Sports Group, a Montgomery, Ala.-based legal firm, under the direction of Anderson. Durkin is currently on administrative leave from the university and was not available to comment Thursday evening.
