Well.....PDIII did a touch and go at Iowa. Does he count? Oh...wait......you said fighters....not fallers...then....noGood for them for publicity wise definitely but I'd be shocked if this is what some Iowa fans think it is though. They won't get to use the UFC as some endless stream of cash. The official UFC Twitter and Instagram pages hasn't even made mention of it.
In exchange for advertising on the radio, during BTN matches (it's just wrestling also, which keep in mind has limited viewers) and on the scorers table at matches, I'm sure the UFC (through Learfield) will probably endow some womens team scholarships (so it doesn't eat into the mens team revenue) while the sport is growing and recruit some potential MMA fighters (because are there even any Iowa male MMA fighters?)
The Koch brothers were from Iowa. There was also a pretty high level training center in Davenport that Tim Silvia was based out of. Jeremey stephens trained out of Des Moines Iowa. I’m sure there are more but off the top of my head those are the names that come to mind. So yeah, Iowa has some UFC connections. Not to mention Franks Mir’s daughter is now an Iowa wrestler. I’m sure that played a role in this.Good for them for publicity wise definitely but I'd be shocked if this is what some Iowa fans think it is though. I phrased it wrong, my bad, I meant are there any Iowa Hawkeye MMA fighters. I actually think you have some really good prospects that just didn't go that route. The Koch brothers were from Iowa. In all seriousness, ADS might be good at it.I phrased it wrong, my bad, I meant are there any Iowa Hawkeye MMA fighters. I actually think you have some really good prospects that just didn't go that route.
As for your last point, I think that is probably the main connection. Iowa (kudos) will be fully endowing a womens team with 9.9 scholarships and the best coaches available in that sport. That won't be cheap and there isn't a ton of revenue coming in early on as the sport is growing so having this sponsorship can help a ton there without taking up revenue the mens team is earning.
How exactly do they push their opponent out of the cage?I'm not a MMA fan and the idea of all of the fans screaming "STALLING!!!!" the whole time makes me a lot less likely to get into it.
Just google Tank Abbott throwing dude out of the cage lolHow exactly do they push their opponent out of the cage?

Henry Cejudo is a big fan/respectful of Terry Brands. I'm sure the women's program played a major factor in this.I phrased it wrong, my bad, I meant are there any Iowa Hawkeye MMA fighters. I actually think you have some really good prospects that just didn't go that route.
