Michigan dual thread - Feb 7

125 - #7 Luke Lilledahl VS Wilfried Tanefeu

I've been fighting a cold the past couple days, and have been in bed all day. Hopefully, I can make it through this entire dual.
This was SlipperyPete's Jordan Flu game. Thanks for your PBP!

Michigan had zero takedowns.

Did Michigan score an offensive point or even take a legitimate shot?

I don't think a Wolverine wrestler touched a leg all night.

Nice work, Bormet - when you don't fill your roster w/ transfer mercenaries, your team completely sucks.

I don't remember many shots from Michigan, but they grazed a few legs. Solid effort by Michigan to not lose by 40.

Good hand control on that escape. That’s what Barr wasn’t doing vs Buchanan. Good stuff.
I was sooooo frustrated watching that match live. There was literally a half dozen times barr could have scored he just won't pull the trigger for some reason. I thought for sure he was going to lose in ride outs then he pulled it out. He needs to pull the trigger these close matches are going to bite him at the wrong time

Actually Lemley did. It was BB that had zero touches in the match. :-/

This Official is brutal - wiped our near-fall on Starocci by calling them OB when Starocci's feet were clearly in-bounds. Has called continuing action on edge when Michigan wrestler after Michigan wrestler has taken themself OB to avoid takedowns.... Now he doesn't even go to the mat when Kerk has Heinselman flat on his back for at least 3 seconds if not 4 (and gives him no near-fall).... Just a brutal performance of ridiculously bad b2g Officiating.
The idea that ref didn't even try to get in position was unbelievable. When looking at replay he had a chance to correct a wrong and chose not to. I would think Beg Ten will take a look at that.

Hilarious . Penn State alum, BS and MS, 4 children with BA/BS and two with MS degrees and somebody deleted my comment because it contained the letters “trump.”
I’ll be back in March if the diaper brigade lets me.

Get over yourselves mod children.
You embarrassed yourself. I forgive and love you, because He loved me first. 1 John 4:19
What?

Last year when Kasak got in line up I thought Van Ness was going to have trouble to get his spot back . I even posted it .
Fortunately Kasak has went up a weight .
From our seats last year it wasn’t SVN that would have trouble. It was the wrestler that turned out to not have a spot this year. It was clear SVN or Kasak would have to go up and Kasak by NCAA’s was looking bigger than his most of his opponents.

I like this kid Barr a LOT. He trolled Cardenas and the sissy style modern officiating twice. First was when in the first period where he just tapped his fingers on Cardenas to show he could place no pressure on the guy and he still wouldn't shoot or even move. Even better at the end of the third ... Cardenas drops to one knee, AGAIN, and does NOTHING, which should be, you know, A STALL WARNING! Barr responds by waiting a moment and then going to both knees and just staring up at him! Hahahaha! That was so damn funny I thought it deserved its own thread

I wasn't listening to Byers but I bet he got a kick out of that.

Byers just said, "both are on their knees now", or something to that effect.

Cardenas’ whole thing is going low and waiting for his opponents to get bored with meeting him there and hitting his double. RBY has that in his arsenal too (but of course he has more).

I thought Josh wrestled a smart match overall but I also hope, as his confidence in his own stuff grows, he’ll find ways to get to his scoring more against the top guys and not just neutralize theirs. He definitely did more of that last night than against Buchanan, and I have faith he’s gonna get there.

He was just trying to please the Iowa fans. Same as bringing up Bo Bassett committing to Iowa. Not sure of the relevance during a PSU-Michigan match to talk about an Iowa committment.
The PSU relevance is he was simply pointing out to PSU fans that despite Iowa being 4 states separated from PSU in both geography and wrestling levels Iowa can still occasionally find a truly elite recruit to grind down and retard development.

I’m not sure …. I’m certain that I’ve seen well over 150 matches at Rec/BJC, but, that reversal with just a few seconds left over a #2 has got to be in my top 8-10 …..EVER!
