Ut Oh….

DeSanto is like the abusive husband. It won’t happen again. Until the next time and the next time. I’m hoping I don’t see him in headlines after his Hawkeye career oh but his repetitive anger issues lead me to believe otherwise. And should he get into coaching at any capacity watch out.He will blow the doors off somewhere sometime and uncle Terry won’t be there to help

From what I understand supposedly he is completely different off the mat, and kinda becomes a different person during matches. So yeah, probably wouldn’t be a great idea for him to coach.

I def can’t see good things come of him being a coach on the floor at Fargo during high octane blood rounds. Hope he proves it all wrong and has a great career

As unpopular as it may be, I’m going to defend another Iowa wrestler here and just say — what, exactly, has been confirmed regarding DeSanto’s postmatch interaction w/ Schriever’s dad?

Anything?

The 2 Facebook posts copied here seem to be the best accounts to date. Facebook posts.

[insert image of Charlie Murphy saying ‘pancakes’ in reference to Prince]

And the two posts are very different accounts of what happened.

I know a bunch of folks would love to see a juicy F-up by DeSanto put PSU in the driver’s seat, but this kind of gossip is not a good look for us. I think it would better to wait for more evidence before arriving at a conclusion and posting it.

"The wrestling room FB group" = Mineo and his minions -- the part hidden behind membership. Because the stuff he makes public is so impeccable.

The problem with message boards is that personal silence on a topic is basically a tacit endorsement of what you’re avoiding. I avoid 90% of the Iowa talk on this board because I mostly find it pointless and stupid. But in this case, I agree. If a couple of opinions on a private facebook is all it takes to cancel someone, we are all indeed doomed.

The only thing I will say until there is a definitive eye witness account is that I can think of no positive situation where a wrestler goes into the stands after his match. The rest of the story will show the degree of how bad this was, regardless it is still bad.

Does Vincenzo Joseph rushing into the stands to greet and thank his folks after winning his first national championship qualify?

Actually, one of the posters here said he was in attendance and that AD did indeed walk off the mat, over to the crowd and did engage Schriever's father making it known that he was displeased with the way he was cheering for his son (saying, according to the poster who was there and seated close to Mr Schriever, "Hey Man, we're both on the same team."). The poster also confirmed that the interaction was ended abruptly by Brands grabbing AD and pulling him away (and that after the event, AD came back [or should I say sent back] to issue an apology to Mr. Schriever.). So if he was doing nothing inappropriate, why precisely did Brands intervene and drag him away? What was he apologizing for later, if he had nothing to apologize for? If you could get off your high, self-righteous, lecturing horse for a moment and answer those simple questions it'd be much appreciated.

I guess you have trouble understanding the difference between wanted interaction/celebration with your son and unwanted, hostile interaction with your son's opponent????
No difficulty at all. I responded to a precise statement:

The only thing I will say until there is a definitive eye witness account is that I can think of no positive situation where a wrestler goes into the stands after his match.

I merely provided a counterexample. Get a sense of humor or learn to use the language with precision.

What poster on here said that he was there? I believe you are mistaken. Do I still have to answer questions? :)

It's Bushwood. You may as well be trying to have a rational discussion with Spyker or Guns.

I once watched Jeremy Hunter run to the upper decks in Hershey after winning his 4th state championship to hug his family.

Best is still the old security guard trying to physically stop Trent Hidlay ( right? (Not right)) from going up to hug his family. He was ...unsuccessful.

Edit: it was Cole Walter. The video exists but eludes me this evening.

Maybe try reading the posts.... [eyeroll].
I think you must be thinking of this post by @86PSUPaul :

On the wrestling room FB group there is a thread, these to posts seems to put it most succinctly, though they disagree on specifics

Apparently after the desanto and Schriever match desanto ran into the Luther stands at starting yelling at the crowd asking who was cheering against him. He then points at cullans dad as says it was you. I ****ing hate you, I’m going to kill you, I’m going to kill you. Then Brands runs int to the stands grabs desanto by the throat and says you are gonna kill him for cheering for his son? And then pulls him out of the stands 😂

Jhe never went into the stands and he didn’t say that he was going to kill him. I was there and next to Ryan Shreiver when Desanto came off the mat and said hey man we’re on the same team and Coach Brands got a hold of him and pulled him away. I didn’t like what Desanto did but he didn’t do any of that. He did come up to the stands later and apologized to the dad and it was all squashed.
To be clear though--PSUPaul was copying and pasting 2 posts he'd read in the facebook group--he personally was not there, I don't believe.

I read ALL the posts. No poster here claims to have been there. NONE. You can roll your eyes all you want.....but when you are done rolling....perhaps you can take the time to identify the phantom poster that claims he was there.

You're reading comprehension really sucks then, why am I not surprised? This is a direct quote from a post in this thread, "I was there and next to Ryan Shreiver when Desanto came off the mat and said hey man we’re on the same team and Coach Brands got a hold of him and pulled him away.".

Instant beclownment, just add one fact. Not that the fact was needed for the beclownment.

Correct. Sadly.....when encouraged to go back and reread the posts to see the error......he condescendingly tells others to read and "eyerolls" Yes.....copying and pasting two Facebook posts somehow becomes an eyewitness account of one of our posters. I would imagine an alleged eyewitness account from an Iowa poster would be met with a bit of skepticism......which was basically my entire point

The facts in this situation have yet to be verified. It’s wise to wait.

That said, did the NCAA ever penalize him for his behavior at NCAAs in March or was it only his own coach’s punishment by being held off the podium during the Award ceremony?

Nothing to see here - this outlet isn't allowed to report on these matters without the approval of the reporting police on here LMAO. Yes, this seems like perfectly normal behavior from AD.... [insert eyeroll.... ditto the people on here defending it].

Another good example of Iowa bending their supposed "zero-tolerance policy" regarding AD's behavior [i.e., his outburst at NCAA's].

You didn't report on it. You claimed that one of our posters was an eyewitness to the events. You just moved the goalposts to another city.......I'm guessing Emerald City :)

That looks like when Mineo reads stuff on boards and then claims "sources said." Just not Mineo at that link.
Who was that guy that constantly said "People are Saying" to make the imagined seem real? His name just slips my mind :) This reporting reminds me of that. They kinda imply at the end that the entire story might not be accurate.....then add that Coach Brands may have choked him. You can't sue us.....I said "Alleged" and "May have" Pulitzer Prize contest is over :)

I wish I didn’t have to work in the morning. Now I’m getting an itch to do my own write-up with unnamed sources.

If you check out the Iowa Wrestling site on Rokfin.......it discusses the details of the finals match but makes absolutely NO mention of any post-match antics. So.....I guess it never happened :)

You can cite me.. I'm unknown.😂🤣😂
Meet me halfway and at least state your level of confidence in the accuracy of each component of your OP. You can do that without revealing anyone’s identity.
