Ut Oh….

Oh great so more people are going to speculate on what happened. Even though there is no video of the event and conflicting reports?
I just watched the mat across from the Desanto match. If you have Flo, here's the link:

At 4:27:10, you can hear the table worker say to someone "Brands just grabbed him by the neck". TIFWIW.

Can't be, if the Iowa Athletic Department doesn't confirm it, it didn't happen.... LMAO. When AD went to Iowa, he was supposedly on a "zero-tolerance policy" re: his abusive unsportsmanlike conduct...., but since that time, Iowa has played "Twister" with their "zero-tolerance policy" to keep him in the Iowa lineup - they've suspended him, they've made him issue insincere "I'll never do it again" apology, after insincere "I'll never do it again" apology... they've held him out of National's Medal Ceremony as a supposed harsh penalty, etc., etc., etc.... So much for Iowa's "zero-tolerance" policy. LMAO. Oh yea, Desanto clearly faking an injury to avoid being pinned (i.e., CHEATING) is another example of his true character, but let's keep acting like none of this keeps happening.

They don’t like tough apologies!

Apologies are for wussies!

BTW, the mat commentator is clearly a liar and just out to make AD and Iowa look bad.... what a disgusting human being! LMAO

I dont know if you got this from somewhere on the interwebs or on your own.....but I find it interesting that the interwebs is popping off clearly after your post here but without giving you credit.

The board does the work the internet takes the credit. rinse. repeat.

Just a shot in the dark, but wait until Kuch96 finds Iowa City home security footage.
this could once and for all lead to the dismissal of awful conspiracy theories about IC being more dangerous than Iran. I for one am here for that. Its about time this truth comes out.

I watched the video referenced above. I saw Brands, DeSanto and I believe Eierman standing around talking. Following a short conversation DeSanto and Eierman walk away and exit the gym. It was as ordinary as a conversation between three people can look.

Take a look for yourself it’s very plain to see, the person I believe is Eierman is wearing the yellow hooded sweatshirt.

Oh, please. I'm sure all those people across the mat were just staring into the stands at some co-ed, too.

I was actually shocked that nobody even bothered looking, so I decided to check for myself. Definitely did my own legwork.

Who is popping off about it?

But don’t ignore the grassy knoll work for too long. :)

Is that why the mat commentator said, "Brands just grabbed him by the neck!"? Also noticed it was your first post on this board..... interesting.... Things that make you go hhhhmmm. LMAO

What you can see with your own two eyes is very clear here.

The mat announcers on the red mat (directly across from, and touching, the mat AD and CS just wrestled on) clearly say the following mid-match of action on their mat, “8-4 Desanto over there.. They are both Iowa guys.. He’s freaking out right now.. Brands is grabbing him by the neck.. He’s staring someone down.. The teammates parents”. So your explanation explains this? LMAO

There’s too much imagination at work here. Someone saying he grabbed him by the neck becoming he choked him out is a lot of imagination. Could just as easily be a hand on the back of the shoulders. Based on demeanors you can see in the video it’s safe to say whatever happened wasn’t anything like Mineo reported.

Don’t know much about Mineo other than what I’ve seen him write about this situation it might be worth putting distance between the guy.

In his defense, he didn't say anything about what you could hear with your own two ears. Just sayin'.

You really are comical... the mat announcer on the red mat opposite the mat AD and CS wrestled on says the following just after the Desanto match ends:

“8-4 Desanto over there."
[brief pause]
Then, "they are both Iowa guys."
[a longer pause]
Then says in an excited voice, "He’s freaking out right now." (clearly referring to Desanto), immediately followed by, "Brands is grabbing him by the neck.. He’s staring someone down.. The teammate's parents”. (all clearly referring to Desanto).

"Desanto running" ....??..........I can hop faster than that.....backwards
"He's freaking out"...............Seriously? Yeah.....the announcer saying it sounded like someone took a Machete to his arm.
"He was staring at someone" OMG......the electric chair is too good for him!

"And That's the Way it Was".............Walter Cronkite

I heard it and I saw the whole video, just doesn’t come close to approaching what was reported and certainly nothing that’s gonna prove an innocent man guilty of anything other than being innocent. Sorry but Mineo went off the deep end here with his reporting.

Why is it safe to say - any demeanors after 5 seconds in are off the screen - we just have the announcers’ reactions to go by from that clip

In other related news....water is wet, fire is hot and puppies are cute

Honestly, I have no problem with Iowa bringing him in to wrestle or letting him continue to wrestle regardless of his behavior - he was brought in as a mercenary (Iowa was desperate at the time - desperate times call for desperate measures for some I suppose), but why did they say they were enacting a zero-tolerance policy when they clearly had no intention of enforcing such a policy (again, they were desperate to improve their team at the time), just makes themselves look foolish and show their true-colors in the long run.

Keep watching, the camera pans over and you get a good look at DeSanto, Brands, and Eierman standing around talking and you eventually see DeSanto exit the gym, didn’t look like anything out of the ordinary.

Mineo might not be worth the baggage he brings. This type of reporting doesn’t age well.
