USC reeled in all the top talent from California, kicked ass, and was the national darling - playing for a handful of championships.
During that time, the three biggest potential rivals (Oregon/UCLA/Stanford) went a combined 111 wins, 109 losses......and the rest of the conference was awful.

Didn't hurt USC any.


Has FSU been hurt by playing in a conference who's "next best team" might just be DUKE?

Bringing in top recruiting classes every year, winning a ton of games, playing for championships.

This "we should root for B1G programs".....programs that otherwise provide every reason for them to be "unliked"....is just silly.

What have Minnesota fans ever done to PSU fans? Your an idiot if you think most of the BIG West is typical Rust Belt culture that worships all things OSU & Michigan. I've attended more than 30 games where Minnesota has hosted PSU in some sport or another since you joined the league & we've been incredibly nice to your fans. Very few, if any Minny fans care much about what happened with your scandal, other than it was a tragic situation that got out of control. Moreover, Minny fans generally root for you against the likes of OSU or Michigan. Which brings up my next point: most of the BIG has disliked OSU & MI since long, long before you joined the conference.

I like our conference mates to do well OOC, it's better for the perception of the conference and thus my team, especially when only 4 of the P5 teams make it to the play offs. Having said that, we have not had the crappy treatment from the conference that you guys have had, so in your shoes I'd probably feel the same way...

I really don't support this argument. If we win and take care of our business we will be fine. We are not going to be in the CFB playoff this year anyway. Once we are fully recovered from the sanctions we need to upgrade our OOC schedule to be competitive.

Besides the fact that UM fans are arrogant, we compete against them for recruits so as far as I am concerned a loss for them is a win for us. Same can be said for OSU.

I don't know whether to say that I'm conflicted or that its a win/win for me personally. Pragmatically, I like to see other Big Ten teams win their out of conference games. On the other hand, Michigan is on the short list of teams that I would love to laugh at. My ideal scenario would be Michigan winning all of their OOC games and their game against tOSU, and losing every other Big Ten game.

PSU does not exactly have a dominant record against Minnesota since joining the BIG. We hardly care about hs or cf in this state, yet the all-time series is 8-5 PSU. And boy I remember 99. Was that BIG officiating that bailed Minny out?
