Van Ness school list

El Jefe. You have been high on him for a while. Slots into 149 or 157?

I know that answer was a little flip, and apologies for that. I don't really care which weight he slots at -- get him to PSU and let the rest of the team figure out where they slot.

We already have good long-term options at both weights in Boone and Matt Lee. So this is not about need, where the projected weight matters -- this is about getting potential superstar talent.

The Bo Nickal Doctrine

Here he is beating Ferrari in Feb 2019 -- a top national recruit who was his teammate for most of the year. Not a huge score (5-1 final) but dominant.

So much to like. High pace and big gas tank. Constantly moving feet, changing levels, creating angles, looking to score. Quick. Good neutral defense, starting with his stance (almost always lower than Ferrari) and able to fend off deep shots. Physical on top. Good on bottom.

I think Bartlett would be the first one to welcome him to State College if he would sign on the dotted line. I have no doubts about it.

My comment did not imply that Bartlett would not welcome him, but as someone who beat Van Ness twice I’m not sure he would agree that Van Ness should get the weight he wants and he would move up or down to accommodate.

Fair enough. But as was pointed out by Jefe, Bartlett appears to be all about the team, and will wrestle at whatever weight he's needed.
