Just noticed that wrestlestat has rolled over its season to 2020-21 and has put in freshman and updated their ranking system. The NCAA predictions are on their site but I went through and seeded the conference tournaments based strictly off of those predicted starters and their wrestlestat ranks.

I know a lot will change with weights, redshirts, impact freshman that haven’t had a chance to prove themselves yet, etc. However, I found it interesting to get a general idea.

Color me impressed with your work!

As a Cornell fan, I have to laugh:

Josh Saunders at #15 @ 141
Chris Foca at #17 @ 174, despite pinning #2 Heller and having two wins over #4 Edmund Ruth
Lewis Fernandes #16 @ 285, despite pinning both #2 Slavilouski and #6 Doyle

Yeah. With their method of rankings you basically start last and go from there in a slow climb. It is probably fair but Foca and Fernandes surprised me a little as they had a number of matches with the FLWC last year. Maybe those aren't taken into account since they were not affiliated with Cornell even as a redshirt (just a guess, could be wrong). I knew of Saunders and Foca but looking at Fernandes' results he looks to be a fun HWT to watch. I am not sure what the gap is between he and Furman but I know Furman did qualify for nationals last year. So that already gives him instant credibility if he earns the spot.

Here's that match against Slavilouski.
